In the NYC Police Department of the near future, traumatic on-the-job situations, like accidental shootings, are dealt with by using a new drug called "Bleach", so that the officer in question does not have to leave the job, end up committed, or even kill themselves. To avoid post-traumatic stress syndrome the drug is administered immediately after the incident and it causes the user to "forget" the last twelve hours of their life. They can then be transfered to another precinct, or even retire, and no one, but their supervisors, ever know what happened. But in this future of technology everything is recorded on micro-video and archived for the courts; so what would happen if a "Bleach officer" found his recording? What if there were more than one? A fast paced well contrived sci-fi/medical-thriller
9 September 1999 | by Ian-126See all my reviews

This thought provoking short film absolutely has the potential to be extended into a full-length feature. The director's use of realism lends credence to the overall premise of the film; if one was confronted with a bad experience which in turn created a bad memory would they choose to erase it? What would be the consequences of such a decision? Interesting thoughts which I'm sure will be brought to the forefront of medical discussions in the near future. An overall well researched, unique take on the limits of our human consciousness and the boundlessness of our ever advancing technology, makes this film a winner.
