Plot Summary

This is a movie about Sahara missionary Charles De Foucauld whose youth was racy but who finally heard the call of the silence (title)that is to say the call of God .He becomes a "marabout" ,which is a strange choice for a Christian .He lives in the desert ,among the Touaregs who speak their own language .He gets killed by rebels from Tripolitaine ,shortly after reading the gospel when Judas betrayed Jesus.
