Oswald the Lucky Rabbit builds a radio-controlled personality changer out of instructions in a magazine. The he goes next door and uses it on the ducks who live there.
We're dealing here with Oswald designed and wirtten solely for a kiddie audience, with his machine able to change ducks from dancing the tango to the apache, from playing "Chopsticks" to jazz, and him from cowering behind a console to swimming through the air, as neatly marked on the machine's screen. Like the machines I designed and drew as a five-year-old, it is infinitely malleable. This means that the joke is the switch in personality, equivalent to a very solemn individual suddenly making faces. It's fun for the very young, but quickly grows old.
Technically, it is a beautifully designed cartoon, with beautiful artwork. Kudos to the animation, which varies rapidly in a manner that makes sense, given the cartoon.
