Perpetually misunderstood, Pelopidas, an incurable romantic and impecunious waiter, leads a solitary, hand-to-mouth existence. One day, he answers the phone and becomes enchanted by the soft, melodious voice of sweet Dora: an unknown well-off young woman who claims to be in love with him and wants to arrange an innocent rendezvous. However, poor Pelopidas is utterly unaware that Dora is playing a trick on him. Now, it is too late, and Pelopidas has already fallen for the beautiful temptress who only wants to have fun.
