When the film was released in the US in an English-dubbed version under the title "The Final War," footage from a later Toei production, Invasion of the Neptune Men (1961), was used to pad out the special effects. The footage showed flying saucers causing additional mass destruction. Because of this additional footage, the US version was regarded as science-fiction.
