The VCX DVD release of Hot & Saucy Pizza Girls has different opening credits than those of the theatrical film. Originally it was Desiree Cousteau as Deseree Cousteau, Candida Royalle (no attribute), Laurien Dominique as Laurien Dominque and Amber Rae as Amber Reah. The DVD has Desiree Cousteau (no attribute), Candida Royalle as Candida Rayalle, Laurien Dominique (no attribute) and Amber Rae as Amber Peck. The original film had Paul Thomas, Carl Regal, Richard Pacheco (as Mack Howard) and Spender Travis (as Spence Davis) while the DVD doesn't list these actors at all. The original has writer John Thomas Chapman as John T. Chapman while the DVD has it John Thomas Chapman as John Chapman. Finally, the original listed the film's copyright date as 1978 while the DVD has it 1979.
According to an interview with executive producer Damon Christian on the Vinegar Syndrome DVD release, several mobsters from Chicago, Illinois invested money in the film. Moreover, one of said mobsters was present on the set throughout the shooting of the movie and even threatened to break the legs of star John Holmes after Holmes accidentally set fire to the pizza parlor main location on the last day of filming.
