Apart from the very preachy message at the end from the UN (which wasn't needed, as the point was clearly made in the cartoon), this is a really neat little animated film from the Canadian Film Board. OVERDOSE is a very simply told story--without any words, just excellent animation (with a cute cartoony style) and music. It begins with a boy being woken up by his mother to go to school. Each day, the kid awakens, goes to school and then goes to some activity such as piano lessons, tennis lessons or studying until late. The kid does not have any free time or a life thanks to an overachieving mother who envisions her son as a tennis star or concert pianist. The boy, however miserable he is, dutifully does each of these tasks, though it's obvious he's miserable.
