Carl Alstrup as Peter Andersen is the center of attention in this drama where a salesman is confronted with his immediate death if he continues his demanding life conditions. Alstrup was in a similar situation and died the year after. However he had been in the acting business for a long time, mostly in theaters, and he contributed to some early danish silent movies. In Peter Andersen there is paid attention to a lot of details in the character and his surroundings, and Svend Methling Sr. perform a fine job directing this excellent movie filled with nuances and subtlety. You are reminded that he the year before directed 'Sommerglæder' where he managed to capture equally subtle emotions and details in a similar moody production. The film did not cause much attention, but it was appreciated by a number of reviewers, and the low key tone alone makes it stand out as something special compared with most other movies of the time.
