Six young men from the city take jobs on a road crew, building a highway of strategic importance to the Chinese Army. The story relates the men's interactions with each other, the local community, and two friendly and flirtatious young local girls who become part of their circle. A reminder of history that is unknown to most people
27 January 2004 | by zzmaleSee all my reviews

The literal translation of the title of this film is: The Great Way.

This movie reminds audience an important historical fact: World War II did not begin in 1941 for China, instead, it started a decade ago when Japanese invaded Manchuria, the northeastern part of China.
