Tom Petty's Death Is Official, Family Issues Statement
Tom Petty has died at the age of 66 after going into full cardiac arrest late Sunday night. The singer's family and manager released a statement late Monday night revealing that he passed away at 8:40Pm Pst while surrounded by his family, bandmates, and friends. Confusion arose earlier this afternoon when it was reported that Petty had passed away when in reality, the family took him off of life support. It had been reported that the legendary singer/songwriter had zero brain activity when he arrived at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica late Sunday evening.

The statement was written by longtime Tom Petty manager, Tony Dimitriades, on behalf of the family and band. It reads.

Paul Quinn, writer and director of “This Is My Father,” died in his New York home on Sept. 2 after a long battle with cancer. He was 55.

Quinn collaborated with his brothers Aidan and Declan when he directed his debut and most notable feature, 1998’s “This Is My Father,” which screened at the Sundance and Toronto film festivals. The award-winning film stars Aidan, and Declan served as d.p.

Quinn achieved accolades along the festival circuit for the second feature he directed, “Never Get Outta the Boat,” in 2002.

His latest directorial work, “Good Ol’ Boy,” is set to premiere in competition at the 2015 Woodstock Film Festival. The contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Henry IV” stars Keith David and Angus Macfadyen.

Paul Quinn was also an actor who appeared in “Leaving Las Vegas,” “Bob Roberts” and “Avalon,” and he directed episodes of the NBC comedy “Scrubs.”

Kerry Washington Talks "Scandal" on "Good Morning America": Watch Here!

Whetting fans' appetites for the season premiere later tonight, Kerry Washington promoted "Scandal" on "Good Morning America" on Thursday (October 3).

At the end of last season, it became public news that her character Olivia Pope was the president's mistress and that Rowan is actually her father.

Speaking about the paternity revelation, the 36-year-old actress explained, "Yea, I had no idea. Joe Morton, the actor who plays my dad, he knew, but I had no idea. When I got the script for the season finale, I turned to the very last page of the script and I saw those three letters, d-a-d. I thought, 'Are you kidding me?! This is my father?!' So that is exactly where we start the season premiere."

Declining to give any plot details for the upcoming season, Kerry shared, "Every week it's a rollercoaster ride and we all feel really lucky to be on this show.

Jessica Alba, America Ferrera, Alicia Keys among stars named Tribeca jurors

The juror panel at the Tribeca Film Festival is going to look like the red carpet at a major Hollywood premiere.

Several celebrities, including Jessica Alba, Whoopi Goldberg, Aaron Eckhart and Brooke Shields, were asked to serve on the six competitive festival categories. They will announce the winning films, filmmakers and actors in their respective categories at the Tff Awards Night Party, which will be held on April 29. The 2010 Tribeca Festival runs from April 21 to May 2 in New York City.

“This year’s jury features the same impressive range and depth as our films playing in competition. The Tribeca Film Festival announced Tuesday morning the 35 jurors for its six competition categories.

Filmmakers, actors, screenwriters, journalists and media figures such as Aaron Eckhart, Jessica Alba, Cheryl Hines, America Ferrera, Alicia Keys, Zach Braff, Hope Davis, Gary Ross, Whoopi Goldberg and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey will participate on the juries.

For an actor who worked with two of the greatest movie directors of the last century and appeared in the world premieres of plays by Brian Friel, Ireland's leading contemporary dramatist, Donal Donnelly, who has died after a long illness, aged 78, was curiously unrecognised. Like so many prominent Irish actors in the diasporas of Hollywood, British television, the West End and Broadway – all areas he conquered – Donnelly was a great talent and a private citizen, happily married for many years, and always seemed youthful.

There was something mischievous, something larkish, about him, too. He twinkled. And he had a big nose. He had long lived in New York, although he died in Chicago, and had started out in Dublin, although born in England.
