Four young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
When bitten by a genetically modified spider, a nerdy, shy, and awkward high school student gains spider-like abilities that he eventually must use to fight evil as a superhero after tragedy befalls his family.
Reed Richards, a brilliant but timid and bankrupt scientist, is convinced that evolution can be triggered by clouds of cosmic energy, and has calculated that Earth is going to pass one of these clouds soon. Together with his friend and partner, the gruff yet gentle astronaut muscle-man Ben Grimm, Reed convinces his conceited MIT classmate Dr. Victor Von Doom, now CEO of his own enterprise, to allow him access to his privately-owned space station. Von Doom agrees in exchange for control over the experiment and a majority of the profits from whatever benefits it brings. When Reed is testing Johnny Storm's ability to "flame on" in a test chamber constructed of titanium, the recorded temperature exceeds 4000K. Titanium melts at 1941K, and boils at 3560K. As there were slots in the chamber walls, it is unlikely that any insulation would have been effective in maintaining the integrity of the chamber. See more »
Typical of Victor Von Doom to build a 30 foot statue of himself.

these have always been my favorite comic book characters. it is a very entertaining movie and fun to watch. the audience laughed out loud a few times. i call this a set up movie because in the movie they explain all about the fantastic four, who they are and they develop their characters.. i am sure that there will be at least two more movies and maybe more. i hope in the future they fight doctor doom, the mole man galacticus, and i would love to see them do a cross over with the x-men. i predict the fantastic four will become the all time favorite comic book movie series outdoing superman,batman,x-men and even spiderman. i say this because i know all about what and who they are.
