Storyline

Peter and Ellie take a holiday in the Cotswold village of Thornton Lacey to stay with old college friends, one of whom, author Colin Hopkins has written a new book - one which gives a thinly veiled account of some of the villagers' dark secret. When Colin's wife is murdered and Colin disappears Peter investigates, though his help is not entirely appreciated by local superintendent Backhouse. At the same time Peter finds a connection with a thief nicknamed the Micturator after his habit of urinating in victims' kettles. Written by don @ minifie-1

Imitation "Midsomer Murder"?
28 August 2011 | by moristotle-145-190158See all my reviews

Disappointing, a failed attempt to imitate a "Midsomer Murder"? Set in a quaintly named English village and all, with everything being everyone's business, except certain things one would kill to keep quiet....Nothing more need be said, except, perhaps, that the murder victims are discovered by Inspector Pascoe and his wife, who is quite pregnant; they arrive where they had been invited for dinner, only to find three bodies. The usual Dalziel & Pascoe approach cleverly links the investigation of this case with that of a second case. At least the episode ends on a happy note, with guess who named the godfather of child Pascoe?
