While this is the situation today, in the 90s his Hollywood career was under a serious threat after some of his movies underperformed at the box office. However, in 2000 everything changed when he appeared in the movie Vertical Limit, which not only created magic on the screen.

There are two kinds of actors in Hollywood, those who make headlines for their movies and those who make headlines for everything but their movies. Chris O’Donnell belongs firmly in the first camp. Despite spending decades in the entertainment industry, he has managed to avoid the scandals, outbursts, and inexplicable social media rants that seem to plague so many of his colleagues.
While his peers were making headlines for their wild parties and regrettable tattoo choices, O’Donnell was busy being…well, normal. And that might just be his most impressive feat yet. Raised in a big Catholic family in suburban Chicago, he brought his Midwestern values to Hollywood and never let go.

In the early 2000s, Sylvester Stallone was arguably at the lowest point of his career. Having written himself into Hollywood with "Rocky" in 1976, the actor had gone on to redefine action movies as one of the most significant action stars of the '80s. When 1988's "Rambo III" and 1990's "Rocky V" failed to connect with audiences and critics, however, it seemed his time in the spotlight might have been waning. It didn't help that his longtime rival Arnold Schwarzenegger tricked him into appearing in the flop "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot" in 1992.
In spite of this, the always resilient actor found his way back to relevancy by starring in 1993's "Cliffhanger". That same year, he also starred opposite Wesley Snipes in the box office hit "Demolition Man," which isn't remembered quite as fondly as his rock climbing actioner but was a commercial success that has garnered somewhat of...

There is no bigger comic book character than Batman. The Caped Crusader is so iconic that he transcends his genre, earning the “super” in “superhero” without even having super-powers. There aren’t many who can do that, and it showcases what a force-to-be-reckoned-with he has become over the years.
First introduced in Detective Comics in 1939, The Dark Knight was introduced as billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne, who became a crime-fighting vigilante known as The Batman by night. From that standpoint, not much has changed for the DC Comics hero, but he has evolved in so many other ways in the near-century since then.
Batman’s enduring appeal has seen him headline countless comic books throughout the decades, but it was his arrival on both the big and small screens that catapulted him into the mainstream. Since then, there have been over 10 Batman movies and countless TV shows (both animated and live-action...

Batman & Robin was released in 1997, 5 years after Tim Burton's critically acclaimed Batman Returns. The movie, starring George Clooney as the Dark Knight, could not have been any more different from what Burton set out to do less than a decade earlier.
After Batman Forever, Joel Schumacher embraced the campiness and toyetic nature of the Caped Crusader's world. The result was a movie that's still widely considered one of the worst comic book adaptations ever (it was something of a commercial success but ended its box office run behind its similarly daft predecessor).
As with most things Batman-related, Batman & Robin has its fair share of fans and Hot Toys has now unveiled its Mr. Freeze figure based on Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic version of the villain.
The likeness is incredible and, for those of you who really love this take on the character, the pricier deluxe version even includes Freeze's glider wings.

More than 35 years later, DC is returning to the world of Tim Burton's "Batman" for a brand new adventure. While we're not going to see Michael Keaton suit up as the Caped Crusader on screen again, Penguin Random House is publishing a brand new novel titled "Batman: Revolution" that takes place in the continuity of Burton's films. Notably, this new book will introduce a new version of a classic villain -- The Riddler.
Written by John Jackson Miller, this new novel serves as a follow-up to last year's "Batman: Resurrection," which filled in the gaps between "Batman" and "Batman Returns." As was first revealed by Comicbook.com, "Revolution" is due to hit shelves on October 28, 2025 and will similarly look to fill in some gaps in the Burton universe. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a screen legend, but it's well-known the Austrian star has more than a few duds to his name. The man even has a dreaded zero-percenter on Rotten Tomatoes, though it is for a 1979 film in which he played "handsome stranger," so it doesn't really count. What's more, according to Rotten Tomatoes, Arnie starred in one of two "perfect" sci-fi movies with "The Terminator," giving the action star a full 100% score to balance things out.
In between those two movies, however, is a wildly uneven filmography that features everything from unimpeachable classics like "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Total Recall" to out and out failures like "Batman & Robin" -- the set for which became chaos thanks in large part to Arnie -- and a 1999 movie called "End of Days," which Newsweek's David Ansen called a "lurid, FX-happy thriller" which "slams pieces of a dozen other movies into a noxious new compound.

There's an interesting parallel between 1997's "Batman & Robin" and 2002's "Die Another Day." The former almost killed off the Batman cinematic saga before it had even existed for more than a decade, while Pierce Brosnan's swan song as James Bond almost put an end to what had been, ever since 1962's "Dr. No," cinema's most enduring franchise. Then, in 2005, Batman got what became known as a "gritty reboot," with Christopher Nolan reinventing the iconic hero for his "Batman Begins" origin story. The following year, Bond would get the same treatment, with what remains the best Bond movie ever made: "Casino Royale."
Both movies turned around flailing franchises, and both movies took a more grounded approach to their protagonist, ditching much of the traditions that had come to define both franchises in order to introduce something truly fresh. In 007's case, Daniel Craig gave us all a version...

Academy voters had no love for Joker: Folie à Deux, but Batman leads the pack when it comes to comic book movies at the Oscars.
Many months ago, Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux seemed a likely Oscar contender at this weekend’s Academy Awards ceremony. Breaking the Batman mould, the 2018 original remains the most-nominated comic book movie to date with 11 nods, including Best Picture, Best Director, and a Best Actor win for Joaquin Phoenix.
With the addition of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, the meta-fictional musical sequel came with more awards hype. This evaporated on contact with the movie’s lacklustre opening weekend, not to mention the disappointed reception from critics and fans.
(Full disclosure – I am blissfully ignorant of Phillips’ Joker movies, so won’t comment on either of them. Wherever you stand on them, it should suit everyone just fine if the worst movie that gets made...

Why Does George Clooney Want To Keep His Batman Movie Away From His Son? ( Photo Credit – Wikimedia )
George Clooney is one of Hollywood’s most revered actors, known for his demeanor, versatility, and performances in films like Ocean’s Eleven, Michael Clayton, and Up in the Air. However, despite his impressive filmography, one role remains a sore spot for him: his portrayal of the Caped Crusader in Batman & Robin (1997). Directed by Joel Schumacher, the film took a campy approach to The Dark Knight, a stark contrast to the brooding tone set by Tim Burton’s earlier Batman films.
Although Clooney acknowledged that the film was not well-received and even apologized, his role as Batman remains a talking point. Interestingly, the actor now actively avoids discussing it with his young son, fearing that it would ruin his credibility. Despite being a household name and an Oscar-winning actor, Clooney jokingly admits that...

These days, major Hollywood stars split their time between the small and big screens pretty reliably; hell, it seems like Nicole Kidman has a new TV project every other week. Back in the 1990s and 2000s, though, television was regarded as a lesser medium, meaning that small-screen actors were constantly trying to become big movie stars and leave their TV roots firmly in the rearview mirror. That's precisely why, after five seasons as Dr. Doug Ross, George Clooney left "ER" for greener, more cinematic pastures.
It probably sounds like an oversimplification to say that Clooney stopped playing Doug Ross so that he could focus on his film career, but that's essentially ... exactly what happened! Though Clooney made movies like "Out of Sight" and his often-maligned Caped Crusader flick "Batman & Robin" while playing Doug Ross, filming a network TV show with 20-odd episodes a season is a huge time commitment.

Every Batman movie has a "thing." Tim Burton's 1989 "Batman" created a blueprint for future superhero films. His follow-up, "Batman Returns," saw Burton usher in the franchise era by letting his freak flag fly, upsetting parents and McDonald's board members, who'd plastered Danny DeVito's grotesque Penguin across their Happy Meals, in the process. 1997's "Batman & Robin" is remembered for nearly killing the franchise entirely, while Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy is remembered for reinvigorating the character for a new generation. In 2022, Matt Reeves proved that there was simply no end to the ways in which Batman could be reinvented, delivering a darker take on the character that provided a welcome antidote to the CGI-fests being pumped out by Marvel.
But 1995's "Batman Forever" sort of falls between the cracks. An often-overlooked entry in the saga, Joel Schumacher's first Batman movie was a big deal when it first debuted,...

Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in November of 1989, James Bond has struggled with his own relevance. "Licence to Kill" was released that same year, but it proved to be the last James Bond movie for six years. Eon Productions scrambled to came out with "GoldenEye" in 1995, starring Pierce Brosnan, the best James Bond. "GoldenEye" featured a scene wherein M (Judi Dench) told 007 right to his face that he was a remnant of an earlier time, and the bad guys were merely ex-Soviets who tried to keep the Cold War going as best they could. Energy for the war, "GoldenEye" pointed out, had waned.
Brosnan starred in four films as James Bond, but he ran into another relevancy problem after the events of September 11, 2001. During the George W. George Clooney can’t bring himself to tell his son that he once played Batman. In a recent chat, Clooney mentioned how his son’s favorite hero is Batman, but when he tried to share that he was once the Caped Crusader, his son didn’t believe him. Clooney joked, ‘You have no idea how right you are.’
The actor admits that if his son knew he was the Batman with the infamous batnipples, he wouldn’t take him seriously. Clooney even went as far as to apologize for his performance in the role. He told he thought he was ‘terrible’ in the film, showing that he clearly regrets his take on the character.
Fans still remember Clooney’s turn as Batman in the 1997 film Batman & Robin. The movie became a punchline in the superhero genre, mainly because of the strange costume choices and the tone of the film.

Since Tim Burton's "Batman" arrived in 1989, there's been no shortage of just plain silly moments throughout the franchise's run. The introduction of the bat-nipples in "Batman Forever," George Clooney's Dark Knight whipping out the Bat credit card, anything Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze did in "Batman & Robin." Following that 1997 blunder, however, Christopher Nolan took over the property, giving Batman a new origin story and single-handedly introducing the concept of the "gritty reboot" into the popular lexicon.
2005's "Batman Begins" was an impressively fresh take on a character that had already been reinterpreted multiple times, both on-screen and in the comics. When it comes to slasher films, the iconography of the killer is often more important than the story. As long as fans are being given the chance to watch Michael Myers show up in his white-painted Captain Kirk finest to slaughter anyone who gets in his way, no one cares about trying to make sense of the the nonsensical and convoluted timeline of the "Halloween" franchise. Even people who have never watched a horror movie in their life could probably identify Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" in his iconic hockey mask, or clock Leatherface from "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" even without his titular weapon. The look of a slasher villain should strike fear into the hearts of the audience ... but it should also be memorable enough to be marketable.

DC's cinematic legacy took a significant blow with the release of Joker: Folie à Deux, but its dismal performance at the global box office makes one DC movie look even worse by comparison. Despite starting incredibly strong with a billion-dollar debut, Joaquin Phoenix's Joker suffered a huge loss with his sequel. The divisive second installment picked up with Arthur Fleck incarcerated at Arkham Asylum four years after his murder spree and the televised shooting of Robert De Niro's Murray Franklin, which sparked citywide riots in Gotham courtesy of a newfound legion of advocates rallying against Gotham's elites.

"I saw it immediately," the director said in an interview featured in Tom Shone's 2020 book "The Nolan Variations: The Movies, Mysteries, and Marvels of Christopher Nolan."
"I was like, No, no, you have never done with Batman what you guys did with Superman in the seventies. The whole dig-down approach, where you submit it to this big production ethic, with all these name actors and faces, and throw it into reality -- not in a gritty sense, but in an action-movie sense. What if this was as real as any other action movie? I just saw this gap in movie history.

In the layered and complicated history of DC’s live-action film industry, one of the most iconic films to ever come into existence was Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Spanning the eras of birth, evolution, and death, the three films rewrote DC history through the enigmatic lens of Nolan’s visionary saga.

But for every great creation, there also exists an antithesis that argues against everything that a work stands for. Nolan’s Dark Knight saga too came under fire for representing a worldview that was deemed problematic by some fans. Although art is always up for interpretation and exploration, fans can often lend the wrong meaning to a project, thus ruining its central message and making it divisive among fans, as a result.

The superhero movies of the MCU and the Dcu sometimes feature actors who choose not to return for the sequel. Though not all superhero movies are as successful as the movies of the MCU, the genre has still become the biggest in modern cinema. As superhero franchises grow, so too do their roster of actors, with many signing deals that contract them to appear in multiple movies across a specific comic book movie continuity.
However, this isn’t always what happens, as in some cases, actors actually decline to return for superhero movie sequels. The movie timelines of the Dceu and the MCU have seen many actors not reprise their roles for various reasons, with their absence in superhero sequels being noted to varying degrees. Whether due to scheduling conflicts, behind-the-scenes dramas, or the character being left out of future narratives, here are 10 superhero movie actors who didn’t return for the sequel.

Having already worked with each other in the acclaimed war action Three Kings, in the following year, Mark Wahlberg and George Clooney joined forces again for The Perfect Storm. While the latter didn’t manage to replicate the highs of their previous collaboration critically, despite its box-office success, Wahlberg confessed to having an amazing experience with Clooney.

Moreover, during the duo’s tenure in this film, Wahlberg recounted his mom’s encounter with the Batman & Robin star, which led him to entertain the idea of a potential relationship between his costar and mother.

Christopher Nolan. The name alone sends shivers down the spine of movie buffs. From perplexing plots to flabbergasting visuals, Nolan’s flicks set the bar for storytelling.
His blend of gripping plots and deep themes? Unmatched. And those box office numbers? A staggering $6 billion. Yeah, the success speaks for itself.
We have seen that 2023 was a golden year for him. Oppenheimer, the historical thriller about the creation of the atomic bomb, shattered records and became a cultural moment. But did you know it’s only his third highest-grossing Nolan film? That’s the magic of the British filmmaker.
Christopher Nolan
He weaves mind-bending tales that dive deep into life’s big questions—yet somehow, everyone still shows up. Hard to believe, but Nolan pulls it off every time.

The Batman films of the 1980s and 1990s introduced a whole generation to a swathe of classic DC characters; unfortunately, others were completely squandered. Warner Bros.’ initial four Batman movies introduced several memorable portrayals, like Michael Keaton’s brooding Batman and Jack Nicholson’s devilish Joker. However, they also squandered numerous opportunities with fascinating characters. Whether sidelined, underwritten, or mishandled, these characters represent what could have been.
The 1980s and 90s Batman movies began with Tim Burton’s gothic, noir take in 1989, before the more horror-inspired Batman Returns. Joel Schumacher was hired to direct the third entry, Batman Forever, dropping the overt horror tones for gothic until Batman & Robin, which killed the franchise until Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins. The films were defined by their visual flair and larger-than-life characters. Yet, the limitations of the time – ranging from studio interference to overstuffed scripts – meant many characters didn’t get their due.

With the MCU being the most successful cinematic franchise in history, the superhero genre has never been so huge as it is now - but it stands on the shoulders of a compendium of early pioneers that all superhero fans should watch. The building blocks that make the best superhero movies were established long before Iron Man revolutionized the genre. In fact, some of the best examples of superhero movies don't star Marvel or DC characters whatsoever.
Fans of the genre will be intimately familiar with the typical characteristics of a superhero movie. They tend to star a protagonist with extraordinary abilities, hinge on themes like heroism and self-discovery, and deliver spectacle in spades as they borrow from other prevalent genres like sci-fi, fantasy, and action. The movies that excel at conveying these elements span decades, but some of the best examples of superhero movies were released when the genre was in its infancy.

It was 1997 when the world received an iconic piece of cinema starring George Clooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Chris O’Donnell. Although Batman & Robin wasn’t one of the finest films out there, it had its moments.

Portraying the role of Mr. Freeze, Arnold Schwarzenegger had to go through some terrible times for make-up. That film probably wouldn’t work according to health and safety regulations in today’s world and trend.

For the close-up shots, Schwarzenegger had an LED light shoved in his mouth to give that cringey glow effect with some terrible one-liners. It was a type of safe-for-human acrylic paint to give that frosty look, but that wasn’t the worst of it.

The Batman 2's new delay ensures that the anticipated DC movies will break a 59-year-old Dark Knight sequel trend. The Batman showed the world that Robert Pattinson was a great choice for Bruce Wayne. With positive reviews and $772.3 million worldwide, the movie started a new shared universe. After The Penguin's successful run on HBO made fans more excited about future DC movies in The Batman franchise, 2024 had a final update reserved for the awaited The Batman 2, as the sequel suffered a major delay.
The Batman 2's release date is now October 1, 2027. That is two years after the movie was originally scheduled to be released in October 2025. However, last March, it was revealed that the movie had been moved back a year, then said to be released on October 2, 2026. After many months without new updates on its story and cast, speculation that the movie had been canceled started to mount.

Matt Damon, Robin role, Batman auditions, Hollywood history (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Imagine Matt Damon as Robin. Wild, right? Well, it almost happened—twice. Chatting on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Damon spilled the tea about auditioning for the Boy Wonder role in Batman. First up? Tim Burton’s iconic 1989 flick. Then, Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever in 1995. Spoiler: he didn’t get it, but the stories? Pure gold.
“There’s two stories there,” Damon laughed. First attempt? Circa 1987 or 1988, when he was a baby-faced 16 or 17. “We didn’t have sides—it wasn’t like you’re reading a scene with Batman. It was so secretive you’re reading another scene from a different movie.” Imagine showing up to a Batman audition without a single Batman line. Peak Hollywood secrecy, right?
Round two came in 1993, when Damon got another shot at Robin, this time for Batman Forever. But, as he puts it,...

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been in the public eye for decades now. He has seen the heights of success and revolutionized the genre of action, completely immortalizing himself in the world of Hollywood. While this has come with its fair share of perks, it has also made privacy void from his life.

One can imagine that there are many things that the world knows about the actor that he would have rather kept to himself. At the same time, there is one very big aspect of his personal life that one can imagine he wanted to keep private: his love child and affair.
Arnold Schwarzenegger kept his suspicions about his son secret from everyone.
Arnold Schwarzenegger had four children from his marriage with Maria Shriver. However, one does not have to look far to know that the actor has another child, Joseph Baena, who is not Shriver’s kid.

Did Batman & Robin teach George Clooney an important lesson? ( Photo Credit – Wikimedia )
Yes, the infamous 1997 superhero flick that tanked both critically and commercially wasn’t just a low point for fans but also for George Clooney himself. And yet, the Caped Crusader’s stumble became the ultimate turning point. Clooney didn’t just reflect on the flop—he flipped the script on his career.
“It’s really easy to pick: Batman & Robin. That’s not a joke,” he admitted. “Up until that moment, I was an actor only concerned with finding work. After the failure of that film creatively, I understood that I needed to take control of the films I made, not just the role.”
What followed was nothing short of a Hollywood masterclass. Clooney traded bat-nipples for brilliance, delivering knockout performances in Out of Sight, Three Kings, and O Brother, Where Art Thou?. These weren’t...

IMDb has a Top 250 list that is constantly evolving. You can rate every movie that is listed on IMDb from one to 10, and the Top 250 is a collection of the highest-rated films across the entire website. This differs from Rotten Tomatoes, which features both critic and audience scores; IMDb's list is purely based on regular audience ratings. The more people that see and enjoy the film, and the higher they rate it, the higher it ranks on the Top 250.
The lowest-rated movie on the list, "Cool Hand Luke," has a rating of 8.0 while the highest-rated movie, "The Shawshank Redemption," has a 9.3. Back in the good old days when IMDb was more of a community and had message boards, the Top 250 was a hotly-debated topic. There was constant arguments about what deserved to be on the list, what didn't, and what should have the coveted number one spot.

Batman & Robin Year One tells the story of the first year of crime fighting between the Dynamic Duo. I gave the first issue a 9.5/10, and you can check out my review here. It was an excellent start to the series, and this issue continues that trend of excellence in comic books.
Spoilers for Batman & Robin Year One #2 below.
This issue starts with a compelling situation that is usually not considered in stories about Batman and Robin when Robin is still a child: Child Protective Services. The first two pages are set in Gotham’s Cps office where employees are betting on how long it will take for Bruce Wayne to abandon Dick Grayson and when they’ll be able to put him in a home with people who actually care. Bodybuilder, action star, and California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger is a man who has worn many hats. Born in Austria, he did more than make a name for himself when Schwarzenegger came to the States as a bodybuilder — he became one of the world’s biggest celebrities, taking Hollywood by storm as one of cinema's biggest action stars. Besides his muscles, perhaps the most impressive thing about Schwenzenneger is his net worth in 2024.
Most people know that Schwarzenegger made big bucks as a movie star, with blockbuster hits like The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, which made $78.3 million and $517.7 million worldwide, respectively (via Box Office Mojo). He also made headlines for his tumultuous marriage to Maria Shriver from 1986-2021, and for his two terms as the Republican governor of California from 2003-2011. With all his accomplishments, Schwarzenegger has built a financial empire, and its success is not only credited to his film career.

Why did Matt Damon reject 2 iconic roles? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Wondering why Matt Damon passed on these roles? “Well, Dark Knight was a small role that I was offered,” Damon casually explained. “I was headlining something else and couldn’t squeeze it in.” That “something else” ended up being a big deal, but The Dark Knight was about to change superhero cinema forever. And Matt? Well, he wasn’t part of that ride.
But wait, it gets juicier. Damon didn’t just miss out on Batman—he almost joined another iconic franchise. In a shocking twist, Damon admitted he passed on Avatar, which would’ve given him a sweet 10% cut of the box office.
That’s $250 million left on the table, and Matt? He’s not shy about it. “I’ve left more money on the table than any actor,” he said with a shrug. Ouch. So why would he...

Batman & Robin Year One is the story of the first year of Batman and Robin's adventures together. The first issue was released back on October 16, 2024, but I'm playing a bit of catch up. I heard good things about the series from friends and decided to give it a go. I bought all three released issues and don't regret it one bit.
Spoilers for Batman & Robin Year One below.
When looking at the front cover, I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the art. Chris Samnee's style isn't my favorite style for comics but it works well with the story being told. The dark, thick lines are reminiscent of Batman: The Animated Series and fit with the lighter tone of the story so far.

Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy hits an important milestone in 2025 with Batman Begins, and it finally feels like a good time for DC to step out of its massive shadow. Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy started with Batman Begins in 2005, reviving the character's legacy and forever altering the course of Batman's cinematic future. It was a modest success at the box-office, but the goodwill the film earned helped propel The Dark Knight to become the first superhero film to gross $1 billion.
Fast-forward to the mid-2020s, and The Dark Knight trilogy is largely considered to be one of the best superhero trilogies of all time. Though the franchise's success has been something special over the years, the legacy it left behind is still influencing how Batman is portrayed on film since, for better and for worse. Warning! This post contains Spoilers for The Penguin episode 8Oz Cobb's actions in The Penguin finale surpass everything the Joker did in The Dark Knight in terms of violence. Matt Reeves' The Batman franchise is a particularly violent DC universe. The Batman sets the tone with the Riddler's brutal murder of Gotham mayor Don Mitchell Jr., beating him to death with a shoehorn. The Riddler also kills Gil Colson with a collar bomb and Pete Savage with a trap box filled with hungry rats, and it's implied that Selina Kyle was one of many women who died a painful death at the hands of Carmine Falcone — the real Hangman.

Batman’s influential nature and consistent popularity has made him a pop culture icon, and one whose stories typically resonate with audiences around the world.
Of the many actors who have played Batman in live-action, most have uttered at least one quote that stands out as a memorable or often-cited line of dialogue. Akiva Goldsman has had many highs and many lows in his Hollywood screenwriting career. The scribe won an Academy Award in 2001 for writing "A Beautiful Mind," but he had previously been nominated for Razzies (honoring the worst in filmmaking) for writing the screenplays to "A Time to Kill" and the atrocious "Batman & Robin." He's been deeply involved in major blockbusters and media franchises, writing "The Da Vinci Code," 1998's "Lost in Space," and "The Divergent Series: Insurgent." He also penned "I, Robot," "I Am Legend," and most recently, "The Dark Tower."
Since 2017, Goldsman has fallen in with the head honchos at "Star Trek," serving as one of the franchise's executive producers and writing multiple episodes of "Star Trek: Discovery," "Star Trek: Picard," and "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds." Over a decade after The Dark Knight trilogy's conclusion, Christopher Nolan is still right about the two things that Batman absolutely needs in order to work on-screen as a character. The Dark Knight trilogy quickly established itself as one of the best superhero movie series of all time from its early days, with director Christopher Nolan's vision of the Caped Crusader and his world coming as a breath of fresh air to those who'd felt the absence of live-action Batman movies since Batman & Robin. That said, the series wasn't a success solely because of the desire for more movies starring the DC hero.
The careful ways in which The Dark Knight trilogy adapted Batman's lore - adjusting some core elements and entirely getting rid of others - played arguably the most crucial part in the series' popularity. The delicate handling of parts of Batman's universe that could have sabotaged...

During the turn of the 21st century, superhero films were still considered pretty alien in the mainstream landscape, primarily due to Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin. However, things changed after the release of the first X-Men, followed by Sami Raimi’s Spider-Man and Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, which completely changed how audiences perceived CBMs.
But before the superhero boom, M. Night Shyamalan dipped his toes into this genre alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis, which can be linked to one sheer coincidence.

Given the immaculate success of The Sixth Sense, which became one of the most celebrated horrors of all time, it was only reasonable for Bruce Willis and Shyamalan to join forces for another project. While Unbreakable was an ambitious concept on Shyamalan’s part, which would later contribute to two delayed sequels,...

For fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the sight of the 77-year-old action star strolling through New York in a full Santa Claus getup might just tug at the heartstrings. As he walked down the street, his grey beard and hair clearly showing the passage of time, surrounded by bodyguards, the fans’ collective thoughts seemed to be the same: When did he get this old?

For years, Schwarzenegger was the definition of larger-than-life—The Terminator, Conan the Barbarian, an actor who could flex his way out of any jam. But now, seeing him in his 70s, struggling to walk, it’s like watching a superhero slowly lose his superpowers.
Fans are heartbroken over Arnold Schwarzenegger’s new transformation
Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a lot of things in his storied career—a bodybuilder, an action legend, a governor, and now, Santa Claus.

Batman & Robin was released in 1997, 5 years after Tim Burton's critically acclaimed Batman Returns. The movie, starring George Clooney as the Dark Knight, was a complete polar opposite of what Burton had set out to do less than a decade earlier with 1989's Batman.
Joel Schumacher embraced the campiness and toyetic nature of the Caped Crusader's world. The result was a movie that's still widely considered one of the worst comic book adaptations ever (it was a commercial success but ended its box office run behind the similarly bonkers Batman Forever).
Today, two more Batman & Robin toys have been revealed but these incredibly lifelike efforts come our way from Hot Toys. Love or hate the movie - perhaps it was your first time seeing the Dark Knight on screen as a kid - you can't deny how impressive these 1/6th scale figures are.

Following a controversial release, Joker: Folie à Deux's final box office earnings were so underwhelming that they were beaten by 10 other infamous DC movies. After Joker broke records by becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time in 2019 (a record broken five years later by Deadpool & Wolverine), Joker: Folie à Deux flipped the script completely. Some fans of the original movie felt cheated by the culmination of Arthur Fleck's story, while others felt the musical sequences to be jarring and the pacing of the movie to be far more sluggish than its predecessor.
As a result, Joker: Folie à Deux has joined the ranks of the lowest-rated DC movies. It is far from the most universally panned, however, which is an accolade typically given to such movies as 1997's Steel and 2004's Catwoman, although these movies boast worldwide box office numbers that reflect their poor receptions. Unfortunately for Joker: Folie à Deux,...
