Would like to see more work from this director and filmographer. Thought the soundtrack to be not only depressing, but distracting. The lack of variance .... a seeming a constant that endeavored to keep the viewer in one mind set ... if that was the hope .... worked. Otherwise, it did nothing to punctuate the film and let the viewer really feel anything but detached. As the characters seemed to be, as well. Are we supposed to think that Thomas is ambivalent about his primary relationship or that he's ready to move on, but afraid of the future. The selling of the guitars, is this symbolic of his split w. the past. Maybe this film would be better received on other countries? I don't know, there are a lot of 20something angst films out there, and the character of Thomas is certainly angst ridden, if nothing else. Maybe the backstory of the punk rock scene in Minneapolis has to be known/appreciated to connect w. these characters? Sabana is suppose red famous locally, but for what? The film never says. So it goes w. most of the characters. If you like films that leave you "wanting" then don't miss "Snow."
