Storyline

When her parents and fiancé are lost in the Titanic disaster, young Edwina Winfield (Rutherford) shoulders the responsibility of raising her three younger siblings and taking over the reins at her father's newspaper. Although she has no shortage of new would-be suitors, the memory of her lost love continues to haunt her, so she focuses instead on providing a stable home for the children, rather than marrying. But her forcefulness alienates some of the kids, who have plans of their own and rebel against her. Can she hold her fractured family together, and will she ever overcome her ghosts to shake herself out of martyrdom and have a real life of her own? Written by Kay-22

Trivia

No main character mentions the 'Titanic' by name throughout the movie. The only person to say the ships name is the paper boy, after the sinking. The word 'Titanic' can of course be read on the newspaper billboards, the life-ring just prior to the collision and on the ship itself as it flounders. See more »

Goofs

The sinking scenes are out of sync. Several times sections of the ship shown going under water in external shots are above water during closeups. See more »

If you love anything about Titanic watch this movie. You realize how some of the women who could have chosen life chose to die with their spouses. Like Edwina's mother did. The psychological trauma all endured after wards and with good reason. They witnessed a great tragedy not only the sinking of "The Unsinkable" Titanic but the deaths of their parents. The one who seemed to suffer the most from it was Lexie. Then when Edwina needs to bring her home via a boat she herself suffers nightmares with a great deal of understanding. Then the boy who played Teddy the youngest was played by a boy who ended up becoming Darth Vader in Star Wars Episode 3. But the ending was the best of all where everyone is happy as is everyone in a Danielle Steel novel.
