Trivia

Eddie's stage prop is a very large open book with selections of text from various examples of classical fiction projected onto the pages. Selections include "The Proposal" by Anton Chekhov, William Shakespeare's "Macbeth", Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky" and "The Mayor of Casterbridge" by Thomas Hardy. In all selections of text every word "the" is replaced by "definite article." Hence the title of the video production. For instance: "'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:" is replaced by, "'Twas brillig, and definite article slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in definite article wabe:" See more »

Quotes

Eddie: Who chooses to play the Tuba? Surely the Tuba's a punishment thing. "You've been sentenced to two years on the Tuba!" "Aw, Guv!"

one of the best (if not the best) stand-up comedians to date
17 May 2005 | by zzoliSee all my reviews

truly one of the best ones, even in izzards, this is really a good one

absolutely strange, unique, and really funny, my favorite comedian, when i saw him for the first time, i couldn't stop laughing, and even now, when i saw all of his videos, i watch them again time to time, it makes my day better, changes a bit my way of looking at stuff, you can't get bored with him, a nd just one thing: you enjoy him much more if you ever been to england for at least a month, cause there's a lot of typically English stuff as well, which you enjoy anyway, but differently if you know a bit about English people

well anyway, go and see it yourself you'll prove me right

and surely the lines will be part of your life after you watched it a few times, that's for sure
