The very entertaining non-fiction adventures of a documentary filmmaker and her accidental miracle--one that eventually allowed her to discover true love.

A very funny, intelligent and thought-provoking film that re-enacts a moment in time when documentary filmmaker Beth Harrington caught a "miracle" on tape during the Italian Feast in Boston. "The Blinking Madonna and Other Miracles" effortlessly blends videotaped footage from the event with filmed re-enactments of Ms. Harrington's life during the miracle (as well as "flashbacks" to her childhood).

The miracle in question is the "blinking Madonna" of the title, which was, in fact, nothing more than a visual snafu brought on by the autofocus on the videocamera--or was it...? (The filmmaker was shooting video footage of a parade during the Italian Feast for her local friends in the North Beach area and they discovered that a Madonna statue "blinked" when the camera passed her during the parade.)

The film examines the effect of the miracle on the filmmaker's life (without ever resorting to the cliches of an "insider" film) and deals intelligently with religion, ethnicity, love, locale and family.
