Trivia

After checking in at the Oasis Motel in Las Vegas, David Strickland consumed several bottles of beer. He hanged himself with a bed sheet over the ceiling beam, and died during the morning hours of March 22, 1999. After much discussion, the writers of this show decided to deal with Strickland's death directly. In the show's third season finale, Todd did not show up to work one day. When Susan called regarding tickets to a show, his pager vibrated on his desk. Susan spent the day searching for Todd, learning for the first time about several good deeds he did throughout his life. The episode ends when the police visited Susan and her Office staff, as she was asking if they know where Todd was. The details of Todd's fate were left ambiguous. The episode was interspersed with out-of-character interviews of Shields and the supporting cast. See more »

Suddenly Snoozin'
6 December 2002 | by See all my reviews

Hastily pasted together sitcom, and a rather dull one at that. Brooke Sheilds is a charming girl, but not really a comedienne. Kathy Griffin is funny, but the rest of the cast, including the late David Strickland, didn't get much to do. In fact, when Andrea Bendenwald joined the cast, I literally kept forgetting who she was each week. Not offensively bad, just bland. I stopped watching when Judd Nelson left-I just couldn't bear to see a comic giant like Eric Idle act down to the level of the writing. One bright spot: The Shawn Colvin song,"Nothin' On Me", heard to better advantage on her cd "A Few Small Repairs".
