Sabrina the Teenage Witch Series in Development at CW From ‘Riverdale’ Team
Sabrina the Teenage Witch could soon be returning to television.

The CW and Warner Bros. Television are developing a new one-hour drama based around the character for the 2018-2019 season, Variety has learned.

The potential series would be based on the Archie Comics series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” which reimagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and witchcraft. The series is described as being tonally in the vein of horror classics like “Rosemary’s Baby” and “The Exorcist,” and will see Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the daylight world humans inhabit.

Osbourne And Hart To Dance With The Stars
Kelly Osbourne and Melissa Joan Hart are among the celebrities who will don their dancing shoes to compete in U.S. reality competition Dancing With The Stars.

The former Sabrina, The Teenage Witch star and Ozzy Osbourne's daughter will show off their fancy footwork with 14 other famous hopefuls as they're paired off with professional dancers for the ninth series of the contest, due to kick off in the U.S. on 29 September.

Other stars preparing to hit the dancefloor include Donny Osmond, singers Mya and Macy Gray and pop star Aaron Carter, as well as former model Kathy Ireland, actress Debi Mazar and a handful of athletes, including Ultimate Fighting Championship star Chuck Liddell.

Singer La Toya Jackson was approached to compete on the show but turned down the invitation because she is still grieving the death of her superstar brother Michael.

She told Access Hollywood, "The fact of the matter is, I won't be doing it, simply because of the circumstances that (are) going on at the moment.

"I can't see myself putting myself into there right now, dancing every single day when I'm still trying to find out what exactly happened to my brother. That's the most important thing for me at this very moment."

Teenage Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson waltzed home with the crown on the last season of the show, narrowly beating French actor Gilles Marini to take the title.

Hart Apologises For Farrah Fawcett Gaffe
Actress Melissa Joan Hart has publicly apologised for off-colour comments she made about ailing actress Farrah Fawcett.

The former Sabrina, The Teenage Witch star took to her MySpace.com blog on Wednesday after realising her remarks about her recent People magazine cover shoot had sparked a little scandal in cyberspace.

But Hart was quick to respond to the backlash. She wrote, "It has come to my attention that something I said has been completely misconstrued in the press.

"I was merely explaining what I had read about how the cover of People magazine was chosen... I truly hope that Farrah and her family know I wish them the best at this time in her life. And that I would never be so selfish to disrespect anyone, let alone someone I admire greatly. "

Comedian Buddy Hackett Dies at 78

Comedian Buddy Hackett Dies at 78
Comedian and actor Buddy Hackett, who charmed audiences in the early days of television as well as with roles in such Disney features as The Love Bug and The Little Mermaid, was found dead at his Malibu beach home on Monday; he was 78. A stand-up comic who got his start playing the Catskills resorts of upstate New York, often poking fun at his own rotund figure, Hackett was a fixture in both television and film, as well as on Broadway and in nightclubs, where his sometimes raunchy humor perpetually had audiences rolling in the aisles. Stints on early television sitcoms and talk shows gave way to Broadway roles, which in turn him to screen fame in the early `60s. He was most well-known for his scene-stealing turn in 1962's The Music Man (where he performed the song "Shipoopi") as well as for his roles in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World and The Love Bug. He found a new (and younger) audience in with his voice performance as Scuttle in Disney's animated feature The Little Mermaid, and did numerous guest spots on TV shows such as Sabrina, The Teenage Witch and Just Shoot Me; he also had a supporting role in the highly acclaimed but little-seen 1999 sitcom Action. While the cause of death was not immediately announced, it was known that Hackett suffered from diabetes. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Cohen, son Sandy Hackett, and two daughters. --Prepared by IMDb staff
