Trivia

Every episode began and ended with the lead character reading in voiceover chapters from a fictional book he had written about his life as a successful sports agent. The point of this was to show that the character did the exact opposite of what he wrote. Robert Wuhl said he got the idea to do this after seeing a book written by Donald Trump. Wuhl said he always wondered what the difference was between what was written and what was actually done. See more »

Quotes

Rita Wu: [Arliss is wondering why one of his clients, a black quarterback can't get on a team] I told you the reason why. It's as clear as black and white.
Arliss Michaels: More like black and puce. I just picked up a rumor that Theo Holt is gay.
Kirby Carlisle: Gay? No way. Theo Holt doesn't sing from the mike... We've chased tail together. He's been my wingman for a dozen missions.
Arliss Michaels: Has he ever shot down any planes?

can't believe there are bad comments on this show!
4 June 2001 | by See all my reviews

I can't believe there are the number of negative comments there are here about Arliss. I love this, and I have been a huge fan since the start. It airs every weeknight now on HBO comedy, and I thank my cable company everyday for picking the channel up. Wuhl (spelling?) is a genius, and his work on the show is brilliant. The chemistry is awesome in the show, even tho one comment said it was horrible. I think the entire cast is hilarious and the shows never fail to entertain. I am usually laughing the entire episode, and that's sometimes rare with some of the crap that is on tv today....this is a great show, and if you haven't seen it, you have to check it out.
