Trivia

In the Japanese version, the Ice was aimed at Sailor Moon, but missed and hit Darien instead, this was edited. However, if you look closely you can see Sailor Moon in the path of the ice for a split second (episode 1.30 "A Crystal Clear Destiny") See more »

Goofs

Many character's names were changed in the dub, yet when porting the series to America, many references to their Japanese names were not removed/edited out/etc. For instance, Unazuki Furuhata is called "Elizabeth" in American versions of the show, yet her doorbell, even in the dub, clearly says "U. FURUHATA." Likewise, Michiru's name is changed to Michelle in the dub, yet at the end of one episode, her journal clearly has "Michiru" written on the cover. See more »

Crazy Credits

The dub version of the show that aired on local networks in syndication and on the USA Network featured a Sailor Says segment following the end of the episode, which gives a positive message to children watching, not unlike what a lot of American cartoons of the day did. See more »

A favorite among the anime crowd
31 May 2006 | by Tenchi64589See all my reviews

I'm guessing that most of the current fans of anime remember this one fondly... I know I do.

I watched this for the first time not knowing that this was even anime; several years later, I find myself trying to find all the episodes I can of this excellent series.

I'll admit: this show is not without its flaws. The dubbing was pretty bad, but it WAS entertaining, and the monster-of-the-day thing was kind of tedious, but fans remember stuff like that.

Flaws aside, this was an excellent starter anime for the States.
