Did You Know?

The original screenplay for the film was more faithful to the game, in that it had graphic violence and strong language making it a R rated script. However, the deal that the producers had with New Line Cinema included that they deliver a PG-13 movie to keep the film accessible to the target audience (mostly teenagers). See more »

(at around 27 mins) During the dinner scene, the masked warriors dump food off the tables and move them all aside. When the fighting begins where the tables once were, the floor is spotless with no food or table debris of any kind on it - they couldn't have cleared the tables AND cleaned the floor this quickly. Alternate Versions

The TBS Superstation version removes some of the more violent sound effects, e.g. bones crunching or arms twisting, and also two bad words... The "I smell something" comment is followed by silence and the obscenity can only be seen being said. Also, complete removal of the offensive word after, "Those were $500 sunglasses", which worked out fine. See more »

One of the best martial arts movies based on a video game adaption my personal favorite
16 September 2018 | by rambofan4lifeSee all my reviews

Mortal Kombat (1995) is a childhood classic of mine and it is my all time favorite martial arts movie based on a video game adaptation. I love love love love this movie to death! It is a martial arts tournament people who fight for our world. I love everything about this movie. The story, characters, soundtracks, actors and so on, the action everything I love it. I love the theme song Techno-Syndrome (7inch mix) by The Immortals! I love it so much I love but I hate the sequel to this movie. It was directed from Paul W.S. Anderson who later directed Resident Evil films and he directed well. I love the soundtracks so much: Techno-Syndrome (7inch mix) by The Immortals Goodbye by by Gravity Kills, Juke-Joint Jezebel (Metropolis Mix), KMFDM, Halcyon + On + On - Orbital and George S. Clinton (ft. Buckethead) - Goro Vs. Art . This movie kick ass.

I love, love, love so much Bridgette Wilson-Sampras in this film she is so gorgeous and sexy. I love Linden Ashby and Robin Shou in this movie so much. I grew up with this film I saw it 20 years ago when I was 14 years old. I played Mortal Kombat 2 video game in the hospital with my friends when I was 13th years old. Trevor Goddard R.IP. is in this movie he almost in every good movie from the 90's, Baywatch, Deep Rising, Mortal Kombat and so on. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is always the bad guy in any action movie in the 90's like Showdown In Little Tokyo. We need movies like this back.

I love the fights beautiful choreographed the final battle between Liu Kang who searches for his brother killer against Shang Tsung is the best in the movie. Three unknowing martial artists are summoned to a mysterious island to compete in a tournament whose outcome will decide the fate of the world.

I love the characters: Lord Raiden , Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Shang Tsung , Sonya Blade, Kitana , Kano, Scorpion and Sub-Zero love those character so much.

Johnny Cage is my favorite character of all time played by one and only Linden Ashby who was the right actor for this job. Johnny Cage is a Hollywood action movie star in the media clams he is a fake martial artist and he sign in to tournament Mortal Kombat to show his martial arts skills. Johnny fought Shang Tsung's goons and beat them. He fought Scorpion and Prince Goro on the end.

Sonya Blade is Bridgette Wilson-Sampras is my all time favorite character no one else could play her Sonya Blade is Bridgette Wilson not Sandra Hess. Sonya is a tough cop who chases Kano (Trevor Goddard) who killed her partner. She face his enemy in a tournament Mortal Kombat he was her toughest opponent.

Liu Kang is an ex monk who searchers for his brother killer a sorcerer Shang Tsung as he sign to compete in a tournament "Mortal Komabt" to avenge his brother's death. Liu Kang will always be Robin Shou he was no one else , he was excellent martial artist. Liu fought Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), Sub-Zero (François Petit) and Reptile (Keith Cooke) and of course Shang Tsung thugs. Robin Shou is the only actor who played the character so well. The fight choreographer was crazy.

Finally Lord Raiden is Christopher Lambert from Highlander only he could play such a great character God of Thunder.

I don't understand why Terminator 2: Judgment Day has the best score 8.5 while this movie that I love only has 5.8 it is not right this movie should get higher. I would take it anytime over Resident Evil or Tomb Raider movies anytime. 10/10 Mortal Kombat is my personal favorite martials arts science fiction film that is based on a video game. Sue me I love this film to death.
