Alyssa (a rich girl) and Amanda (an orphan) are two little girls who are identical, but complete strangers, that accidentally meet one day. In an attempt to stop Alyssa's father from marrying Clarice, a conceited know-it-all, the girls get him to meet Amanda's case worker and switch places to stop the wedding once and for all. Though things don't go exactly as planned when Alyssa gets adopted and Clarice moves up the wedding.

When Amanda is first mistaken for Alyssa at the Callaway house, she refers to Vincenzo as "Lurch". This is a reference to The Addams Family (1964) with Lurch being the name of the tall, scary butler. See more
During the food fight, Alyssa runs out of the dining hall, and we can see mac and cheese in her hair. When she goes through the swinging door and meets Amanda in the kitchen, it's gone. See more
