Storyline

After "crashing" the super hero convention in Reno, the nigh invulnerable blue-clad super hero, the Tick, is deemed the protector of "The City." On his first patrol he runs (more like "falls") into Arthur, an accountant in a moth costume. They soon strike up a partnership. When the villainous and muffled idea men threaten to flood The City, the Tick and Arthur come to the rescue. Along the way we meet Die Fledermaus, American Maid, and the Caped Chameleon. The Human Bullet cameos. Written by Kevin Gillease <gillease@scf-fs.usc.edu>

Trivia

A fourth season was planned before Fox canceled the series. Some of the fourth season's developments would involve Arthur and Tick moving in with Carmelita, the Terror would find the Fountain of Youth, and that Barry (from The Tick: The Tick vs. the Tick (1994)) was revealed to be Carmelita's brother, who was originally destined to wear Arthur's moth suit. Quotes

Thrakkorzog: Quite frankly, that's why I was so glad to find this great apartment. You'd be surprised how hard it is to get a place in the city. Never mind that most folks are hesitant to rent to a slime-based organism, much less one with intentions of taking over the world...
Thrakkorzog's Sentient Tongue: And eating brains. Don't forget the brains.

Move Over, Bullwinkle!
12 June 1999 | by ChrissieSee all my reviews

I thought it was impossible to find cartoons that parents can enjoy as much as (if not more than) the kids. The Tick proved me wrong. I laughed until I cried. Highly literate, The Tick is set in The City, a metropolis overrun with superheroes and villains. See Die Fledermaus, The Civic-Minded Five (yes, they drive a Civic), and American Maid as they battle evil with The Tick and his sidekick Arthur ("I'm not a bunny! I'm a moth!)
