Trivia

The aircraft used in the movie (Lockheed L-1011-385-1 TriStar (Reg No. N31018)), first flew on 10/02/1974, and was delivered to Trans World Airlines on 23/03/1974. Following filming of The Langoliers, the aircraft was re-registered as SE-DSC, and sold to Air Ops of Sweden (delivered 18/03/1995). It was broken up for scrap at Bournemouth, UK, 1996. See more »

Goofs

When taking off from Bangor Airport to escape the Langoliers the aircraft is shown climbing away from the runway. The Attitude Indicator in the cockpit however clearly shows the aircraft to have been in a dive - nose down, as opposed to a climb - nose up. See more »

THE LANGOLIERS

As soon as I read the novella "The Langoliers" by Stephen King, I knew it would make an amazing movie. It was by far the scariest piece of writing I have ever read and I was delighted to see that it had already been made into a TV movie. It took me over a year to find a copy, but it was worth it.

People complain about the crappy computer FX and the bad acting, but if you pay attention to the amazing storyline and the logic and thinking that went into this story, you'll find that it is an enjoyable movie that will keep you glued to the screen.
