    Tepid P.I. mystery

Spenser and Hawk go off to Canada to nail the killers of an American tycoon's family. Along the way they uncover a plot to assassinate an African leader which ties in with their own investigation. I couldn't get interested in the show, it just floated along sluggishly. Parker's books are better.

    I don't do blood money

I started getting into the "Spenser: For Hire" craze when it went on the air. The best thing about it is The Ford Mustang. The TV show has the green one. In the TV movie, it was maroon. It was during a African summit. The family of an American diplomat was bombed. Spenser was hired to find the ones responsible. As usual, he's helped by Hawk(Avery Brooks), his strong arm informant. During his tenture in Canada, Hawk grabs him and helped him out with the investigation. After tracking down the elusive blonde, she would reluctantly help the duo. She would discover that her boyfriend is a racist terrorist.

After the mission, Spenser declined the reward.

Sometimes morals have the advantage for P. Is.

Some rewards are tanted with blood. Blood money is like a blood diamond. Very dirty.

Great cast, great story. Any time of the day this movie is great.

    2 out of 5 stars.

Spenser never expects a perfect world and he surely doesn't get one here

This is a pretty good Spenser P.I. adventure even though the ultimate villain isn't hard to spot and the intended victim appears to be a small time Hitler in many respects. As I said, Spenser doesn't expect perfection in the world. There are some interesting plot elements, but I don't want to give anything away. The overall cast is OK, but Spenser and Hawk are the show aided by an always angry Canadian police inspector. I rate it a "7".
