Glenn Close, Robert Duvall, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, and Randy Quaid in Cronisti d'assalto (1994)

Blooper

Cronisti d'assalto

Modifica

Continuity

In the scene where Alicia Clark meets with Graham Keighley at the social function, her hair style keeps changing. Most noticeably, the amount of curl in her hair at the neckline.
When Henry finally returns to his apartment, a little before finding out Marty's having a baby, the street he's walking seems wet as if it rained the whole day. However, during the whole movie the weather was very sunny.
During the scene with everyone in Henry Hackett's office (prior to the gunshot), the pad of paper that Carmen is holding jumps from one hand to the other & back again.

Factual errors

At the time in which this film takes place, no major New York City daily newspaper would have had such an early final press deadline.
When Henry tries to "Stop the presses," they have to find "Chuck" to unlock the stop button... this is totally wrong; on presses like this, there are stop buttons everywhere, and ANYONE can stop the press (although they'd better have a good reason for doing so)... what if someone were caught in the press, they're going to take 10 minutes to find the guy with the key to unlock the stop button? No way...
At any larger newspapers, the editorial department is never "in charge" of the presses or have any control of the printing plant. That is an exclusive area which is under the ultimate authority of who would be the paper's "Director Of Operations." Often one of the paper's Vice Presidents. In a real event, that member of the paper's executive staff would be contacted first and foremost -- and it would be his or her decision only whether or not to stop the presses.
One of the boys is 19, the other 17, a minor. They would not have been placed in the same detention cell together overnight, in fact its unlikely they would have even been arraigned in the same court. Nor would the minor have likely been perp-walked in front of the press.
The "Gotcha" headline is technically not "wrong," as the boys were legally arrested for suspicion of murder. Henry Hackett's own morality wanted to get the actual, whole story published.

Revealing mistakes

Audio/visual unsynchronised

As the new "They Didn't Do It" headline picture is being emitted from the laser printer, the accompanying audio is that of a dot matrix printer.

Crew or equipment visible

Seen from the ground shot angle seconds into the Sandusky (Alexander) & McDougal (Quaid) fight, there is a cameraman holding a camera, standing on top of the bar shooting down towards the fight in the upper right part of the shot.
During the opening tracking shot through the newsroom of The Sun, the camera track on the ceiling can be seen.

Errors in geography

The shooting incident occurred in Brooklyn's (fictional) 91st Precinct in the Williamsburg section, yet the two suspects are "perp walked" from 100 Centre Street, which is the Manhattan Criminal Courts. In reality, these suspects would have been processed at Brooklyn's central booking facility at 120 Schermerhorn Street, and walked IN to the building, where they would be arraigned, not OUT.

Character error

When Henry is commenting in the penile implant drawing he says it looks like the "5th at Shinnecock, you play over the water." There is no water hazard on the 5th hole at Shinnecock and it is not a dogleg.
