However, there is an entire younger generation out there that never saw it and many have never even heard of it. As such, one of the most dedicated fans of the animated series decided to make a live-action video about Gargoyles. Live-action ‘Gargoyles’… Could a fan film entice Disney?

Thanks to creative geniuses like Adi Shankar, amongst many others, the rise of the fan-film is ensuring that the big companies have to at least take note. I mean sometimes that can lead to Haim Saban trying to sue your ass But nobody can watch the opening scene of Power Rangers (2017) and not think maybe Shankar should be suing them. Then there is the trailer for the Sony and Pascal Pictures (love writing that) Venom which screams Shankars Bootleg Venom. However I am going off point.

While these companies claim to be upset with these fan made homages its pretty clear they are sitting back and taking notes from the people who know these characters best. Lets be honest who wouldn’t love a live-action Gargoyles movie? That last question was hypothetical…

In the hope to entice Disney to approve his proposal to make a feature-length live-action take on their property Gargoyles,

Gargoyles Fan-Film Brings Disney’s Animated Series To Live Action

Carlos Ferrer has adapted Disney’s 1990s animated series Gargoyles into a short live-action fan film. The original Gargoyles focused on a group of the titular nocturnal creatures, led by the noble Goliath, who wake up in modern day New York after a thousand years of slumber. Though only active at night, the Gargoyles become the protectors of their new city and must balance fighting crime with adjusting to their new surroundings. Along the way, the Gargoyles earn the trust of a young police detective named Eliza who helps facilitate their night-time activities.

Keanu Reeves in Talks To Star in Superhero Netflix Movie Past Midnight From Joe and Anthony Russo

Netflix has picked up a new superhero project called Past Midnight, which will center around a "new kind of vigilante superhero" and Keanu Reeves is in talks to star in it!

The film will be directed by Dope director Rick Famuyiwa and it will be produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, who are best known for directing the last two Captain America movies and the upcoming Avengers films.

Details on the plot are being kept under wraps, all we know at this point is that it will introduce us to a new kind of vigilante hero. There's some great talent attached to it, though, and if Keanu Reeves signs up, you know it's going to be awesome!

There was a big bidding war on the script that was written by Tj Fixman and Netflix beat out everyone and took home the prize. Fixman has worked on upcoming films such as One Night on the Hudson,

It Came From The Tube: Gargoyles (1972)

Pity the poor gargoyle, second tier (at the very least) in horror iconography, resigned to being stone portents in many a film, but never getting their creepy due. This brings us to CBSGargoyles (1972), a TV movie that aimed to rectify that situation and give these mostly forgotten creatures a chance to shine through the filter of a demented Saturday morning vibe.

Originally broadcast as part of The New CBS Tuesday Night Movies, Gargoyles had to contend with the ABC Movie of the Week/Marcus Welby M.D. and NBC’s The Bold Ones: The New Doctors/NBC Reports. (Please, if anyone has seen The Bold Ones, hit me up. I need to know these things.) And Gargoyles did make an impact, earning a Primetime Emmy for Makeup from some new up-and-comer named Stan Winston. (We’ll get to him in a bit.)

TV Critics Pick the Best Animated Voice Actors of All Time — IndieWire Survey

TV Critics Pick the Best Animated Voice Actors of All Time — IndieWire Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: Who is your favorite voice actor for animated characters on TV? Why?

Dave Trumbore (@DrClawMD), Collider

My knee-jerk reaction was either Kevin Conroy or Mark Hamill for their roles as Batman/Bruce Wayne and The Joker, respectively, because “Batman: The Animated Series” is always on my mind. But thinking a moment more, my favorite voice actor (and arguably the best in the biz) is Frank Welker.

His name might not be a household one, but with over 800 credits and nearly 50 years in the industry, Welker’s voice definitely is.

New Original Disney Gargoyles Character Art Released by Series Producer Frank Paur

About a month ago, artist Frank Paur, who was the supervising producer of the classic 90s series Gargoyles, released a piece of Gargoyles art featuring Elisa Maza. He has since been busy working on more new original character art from the series for fans to enjoy.

These latest three pieces are all in different stages of development, and the characters include Goliath, Hudson, and Broadway. It's so cool to see new art pieces like this being created by one of the original creators of the series. Makes me wish Disney would actually breathe life back into the franchise and do something with it!

New Gargoyles Art Released From One of the Producers of the Animated Series

If you're a fan of Disney's classic animated series Gargoyles, I've got a cool piece of art for you to check out today! It comes from Frank Paur, who was the supervising producer on the original series. As you can see, the art puts the focus on Elisa Maza, who was a friend of the Gargoyles. You can see her Gargoyle friends soaring through the sky behind her. It's a beautiful black and white piece that I think fans will love. It's ridiculous that Disney still hasn't pulled the trigger on a feature film adaptation of the incredible series!

Gargoyles: revisiting an underappreciated Disney series

David Baldwin Jan 30, 2017

Disney's Gargoyles was filled to the brim with creativity, mythology and great characterisation...

To get a sense of why Disney series Gargoyles stands as one of the more ambitious animated serials to have come out of the 90s, a good place to start is the episode Avalon Part 2. The second in a three part narrative taken from the show’s elongated second season, it begins with one iteration of the villainous Archmage, voiced with glorious ham by David Warner, asking a doppelganger whether he’s certain he knows what to do. To which the doppelganger replies “I should… I watched you do it.”

Said exchange doesn’t make much sense until the end of the episode, when the lines are repeated to an audience now fully informed, who have just seen two versions of the same character travel between

New Flash Character Is Not Human

A new character will debut in Flash episode 13 and will stick around at least until episode 14, that being the good intentioned leader of Gorilla City (The home of the sentient Apes in the comics, and apparently the CW show Flash), another ape, Solovar. If your left hand is evil, you hold Grodd, and if your right hand has good intentions then you cradle Solovar. This ape has been around the comics for a long time, and while he has had evil tendencies at times, Solovar is typically the logically thinking leader controlling Gorilla City.

Today, we learn that Solovar will join us, and I for one being an Apetivist am happy to learn that not all Gorillas will be evil in the show. Or so we are led to believe. For all we know, Solovar could be highly irritated that Barry threw Grodd into their world, disrupting their ape-lives and Solovar now seeks revenge.

Jonathan Frakes to Play Star-Lord's Dad In Guardians Of The Galaxy Animated Series

Jonathan Frakes, the man who played William Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation, is set to play Star-Lord's dad in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Animated Series. I don't think they could have gotten anyone better. He's a great choice! The character's name is J'Son, and he also happens to be the king of the Spartax galactic empire. Frakes tells USA Today:

"I'm thrilled to be part of another great sci-fi franchise. And I'm also lucky that the character of J'Son just happens to sound like me."

This is not Frakes' first time providing the voice of an animated character. One of his most well-known characters — and a personal favorite of mine — was Xanatos from Disney's Gargoyles.

His first episode centers around Star-Lord, who goes Mia in Spartax, and The Guardians' efforts to recover their leader. Frakes' first episode will air on March 13th.

'Star Trek' Star Nichelle Nichols Suffers Mild Stroke

Actress Nichelle Nichols, known to legions of fans as the original Lt. Uhura from the "Star Trek" series, suffered a mild stroke at her Los Angeles home on Wednesday night, but appears to be doing well after a series of tests at a local hospital.

A rep for Nichols, Zach McGinnis, announced the news on Nichols's Facebook page early Thursday, writing that the actress "is currently undergoing testing to determine how severe the stroke was. Please keep her in your thoughts." Despite that scare, those tests appear to have gone well, and McGinnis updated Nichols's Facebook page later in the day. He wrote:

Nichelle Nichols has had both a Cat scan and an Mri today. The Cat scan came back negative and we are awaiting the results from the Mri. Currently she is awake, eating, in good spirits and able to have full conversations. Her right side has shown minor
