‘That Guy’ Actor of the Day: Andrew Bryniarski

Anyone who’s ever seen the movie The Program is well aware of who Andrew Bryniarski is. He’s the jacked guy that played the ‘roided up Lattimer. For later generations of movie goers Bryniarski also played Leatherface in the 2006 Texas Chainsaw massacre remake. Andrew Bryniarski is known particularly for playing imposing “muscular” roles which makes perfect sense given he’s 6’ 5″ and a former bodybuilder. He came to Hollywood for a short summer vacation to visit a friend, was spotted by a talent scout who set up a screen test for Joel Silver, and all of a sudden he was

Cannes: Studiocanal Sells ‘Mon Roi’ to Most of World (Exclusive)

Sales confirm “Mon Roi” as, with Nick Park’s Aardman production “Early Man,” revealed on the cusp of Cannes, one of Studiocanal’s two best sellers at 2015’s Cannes Festival.

They come as Studiocanal’s intl. sales head Anna Marsh confirmed momentum off Cannes on a U.S. sale for Stephen Frears’ “The Program,” starring Ben Foster, who, from the evidence of a promo, bears an uncanny resemblance to Lance Armstrong.

Variety reported last week that several distributors expressed interest in the project. A U.S. deal should go down in the next two weeks, Marsh said.

Studiocanal will directly distribute “Mon Roi” in France, Germany and the U.K. It is helmed by Maiwenn, who

NFL draft: Which movie football star would you select No. 1?

NFL draft: Which movie football star would you select No. 1?
Tonight at Radio City Music Hall in New York, the NFL will welcome its next class of millionaires as the league’s worst teams get the first shot at college football’s biggest stars. Stanford’s Andrew Luck and Baylor’s Heisman-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III are the sure-thing first two picks, as Indianapolis and Washington have made their intentions clear. In fact, the NFL Draft has been so obsessed over by the likes of Espn’s Mel Kiper Jr. that it makes Academy Awards handicapping seem restrained.

So rather than pretend to offer any fresh insight about tonight’s event,

Major League 3 to Reunite Original Cast

Last year Bob Uecker revealed that a new "Major League" movie was in the works, but we haven't heard much more about it. Moviehole has now caught up with David Ward (The Program), the director of the 1989 movie, who backed up Eucker's comments. "We're actually talking about doing one right now," he said. "I've written, what I see, as 'Major League 3.' We're putting that together as we speak - in fact, next week I'm off to talk to Morgan Creek about it." Ward went on to describe the story. He said: "It's 20 years later, and Wild Thing comes out of retirement to work with this 19-year-old player. We've actually got three new characters in the new film. And if the new film is popular, they could carry the franchise on." The director added that he would like to bring back Tom Berenger, Corbin Bernsen and Wesley Snipes. But at this point,

The 2010 NFL Draft Is Here -- If Only You Could Draft These Fictional Football Players!

The 2010 NFL Draft Is Here -- If Only You Could Draft These Fictional Football Players!
The 2010 NFL Draft gets underway tonight, giving sports fans something new to argue about for at least a couple of weeks. The draft's rules and the selection process are significantly more complex than your typical playground pick-'em method for splitting teams, but thankfully, we here at Movies Blog play by our own set of rules.

If given the opportunity to draft a team based on the many fictional football players out there in movie land, this is what you would want your starting roster to look like!

First Round: Dan Marino

Of course Dan Marino, the American Hall of Fame quarterback who unfortunately rubbed Ray Finkle the wrong way in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," is a first-round pick. He was an all-star football player in real life. Sure, he's not exactly in top form these days, but if we're plucking characters straight out of movie history, Marino circa 1994 is a steal.

'Lobo' Casting Poll Names James Preston Rogers Fans' Favorite Czarnian

The poll results are arriving a day late this week due to yesterday's glut of comic book movie news, but we're not ones to complain about a good thing when it comes to updates on projects like "Thor," "Iron Man 2" and "Spider-Man 4." However, it's an entirely different sort of comic book movie that we asked fans to cast last week—and much like our Wonder Woman poll from a while back, the winner of our "Lobo" casting poll has a loyal fan following that played no small part in determining the winner.

In the end, former "Thor" hopeful James Preston Rogers was named MTV readers' favorite choice for the role of DC's Main Man, Lobo. The musclebound actor is probably best known for his role as a hulking barbarian in the vikings-vs-aliens film "Outlander," but he was also the subject of an extremely active fan campaign to cast him
