Trivia

During the restaurant scene when Mrs. Doubtfire's teeth fell into the wine glass, the cast didn't know Robin Williams would do that, and their reactions on film were genuine, mirroring the shock of the crew. See more »

Goofs

There is not a restaurant in the world that has all the cooking spices on the waiter's side of the kitchen as shown when Mrs. Doubtfire put the hot pepper on Stu's dinner. Furthermore, one of the eight line cooks working would have seen Mrs. Doubtfire season a dish that was on the pass-thru and would have either said something or remade the dish.

NOTE: In a deleted scene, one of the cooks does catch Mrs. Doubtfire adding the pepper, so he/she pretends to be a high-profile Cajun chef visiting the restaurant and chides the cook for not adding the pepper. See more »

Alternate Versions

The film was originally released to UK cinemas uncut with a 12 certificate. Since the 12 certificate prohibited entry to anyone under that age, regardless of the presence of a guardian, many cinema owners felt that they were missing out on a large potential audience, and a version was eventually passed PG, after the removal of 13 seconds of dialogue referring to "cunning linguistics", "horizontal mambo" and other crude mentions of sexual foreplay during the restaurant scene. All video, laserdisc and DVD versions released in the UK were similarly edited to secure the less restrictive rating. The uncut version was submitted to the BBFC in 2003, but they felt that having both cut- and uncut versions on the market together would confuse consumers, and so cuts were repeated. It was not until November 2012 when all cuts were fully waived by the BBFC, and a 12 certificate was given to the film. Their website outlines the history of the film in detail. See more »

A eccentric life!!
29 November 2004 | by kitty_and_mi-1See all my reviews

Many people say that gMrs. Doubtfireh is one of the funniest movies. I agree with the above idea. First, one of the funniest scene for me is when Mrs. Sellner comes to Danielfs apartment and he transforms between himself and Mrs. Doubtfire so quickly. This busy scene brings constant laughing to us. The second funniest scene for me is when Mrs. Doubtfire cooks the dinner for the first time and she burns her clothes. The scene not only funny but also thrilling and my heart fluttered with worry, too.

I know that some people claim that the storyline is too unrealistic, but I think there are few fathers who love their children as deeply as Daniel.

This movie is not only funny but also impressive. I rate this movie at 8/10.
