The end of the film has several parallels to the tyrannosaurus's attack on the main road and vehicles. The children are trapped inside a car, while an adult makes a noise to distract the creature. Earlier, when they are trapped in the grain mill, the door falls on them, ironically protecting them from the creature. The girl turns off her cochlear implant, inadvertently attracting the creature's attention, just as Lex playing with a flashlight attracts the tyrannosaurus's attention. The tyrannosaur is also portrayed as having poor eyesight and only being able to see movement. The creatures in this film are completely blind, but attracted to sound.
