Gwyneth Paltrow's Head Was in a Box for Halloween Like in Se7en
Last month marked the 22nd anniversary of the iconic 1995 classic Se7en, which starred Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and marked a breakthrough role for a young actress named Gwyneth Paltrow. The role seems to be still very close to the actress' heart, since she paid homage to her character Tracy, the wife of Brad Pitt's character, Detective Mills, with an amazing Halloween costume that she showed off on Instagram earlier today. If you still haven't seen this classic thriller yet after 22 years, there will be Spoilers for the iconic ending, since it figures into her costume.

The movie centers on the seven deadly sins, gluttony, greed, sloth, envy, wrath, pride, and lust, which are being punished with unimaginable cruelty and calculation by an enigmatic killer. Set in a perpetually gloomy unnamed city, the film follows Somerset (Morgan Freeman), a retiring police detective, as he experiences his final week on the job,

The Best and Worst TV Shows for Female, Minority Directors: DGA Study

The Directors Guild of America has released its best and worst lists of TV shows that hire female and minority directors.

Four out of the 27 worst violators — shows that had no minorities or women directing — were HBO productions, including “Boardwalk Empire,” “The Brink,” “The Comeback” and Cinemax/HBO’s “Banshee.”

The year’s top network in diverse hires was Bet, which had three shows — “Being Mary Jane,” “The Game,” “Single Ladies” — with 100% minority or female directors. CBS’ “The McCarthys” came in at No. 4 at 93%. (See full list below)

Overall, female directors are seeing a modest gain in employment on television as the number of episodes directed by women rose to 16% from 14% for the 2014-15 season, the DGA report shows.

But DGA president Paris Barclay, a veteran TV director and showrunner, said much more needs to be done. “The uptick in the number of episodes directed by women — modest but hopeful

The Fabulous Baker Boys | Blu-ray Review

Twilight Time brings the famed musical romance The Fabulous Baker Boys to Blu-ray for the first time, the late 80’s classic which snagged a small clutch of Academy Award nominations as it became one of the decade’s most iconic titles. Hailed by critics at the time for its disassociated ambience with the age of excess, the film still feels as equally unfettered to any particular period. The first of only two films to be directed by Steve Kloves, a striking casting is lorded over by an unforgettably scintillating Michelle Pfeiffer in one of her most notable early roles. The title’s sterling reputation may have outgrown the film’s quiet demeanor, a rarity in that it still remains difficult to succinctly classify. It’s exactly this resistance to not just two decades worth of cinematic expectation since it first wooed audiences, but also its challenge to our limited means

With great power comes great responsibility. And with Starz’s Power comes the certainty that a major character won’t make it out of Season 2 alive.

The drama — which returns Saturday (9/8c) and follows drug boss/aspiring nightclub mogul James “Ghost” St. Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick) — will lose “someone that we have been invested in” this season, creator Courtney Kemp Agboh tells TVLine.

“A character is killed by someone who you never see come in,” she elaborates.
