The “Dark Matter” TV series came years after the debut of the Dark Horse comic book it’s based on, but creators Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie originally conceived of the series — about six individuals who wake up on a starship together with their memories wiped — as a TV show before it was redeveloped as a comic in 2012.

The Emmys are out there: ‘The X-Files’ 2018 campaigns David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and which 3 guest stars?

The 2018 season of Fox’s “The X-Files” — the second of the revival and 11th overall — is staging a spooky Emmy campaign for five of its cast members. Leads David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are of course back on the Emmy ballot as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Duchovny previously earned two nominations (1997-98) for the original run of “The X-Files,” while Anderson received four bids (1996-99) and won the 1998 Emmy for Best Drama Actress. This time around they’re joined by three of this season’s standout guest stars: Karin Konoval (“Plus One”), Haley Joel Osment (“Kitten”) and Fiona Vroom (“Nothing Lasts Forever”).

Film Review: ‘The Year of Spectacular Men’

Film Review: ‘The Year of Spectacular Men’
The “spectacular” in Lea Thompson’s “The Year of Spectacular Men” is meant to be taken with a grain of salt — or rather, several shots of tequila, which is how Izzy Klein winds up tumbling into bed with dudes who don’t respect her. In an opening montage, the guys tell us who she is: insecure, neurotic, depressive, and “sexy in a goofy Special Olympics way.” They’re jerks. But she convinces herself each one is Prince Charming because she wants her fairy tale happy ending on page one. This un-spectacular recent college grad would rather kiss creeps than fix her flaws, which means the film’s plot is basically hurdling relationships on a treadmill. Izzy’s going nowhere but she’s always about to fall flat on her face. And it’s as exhausting for the audience as it is for her.

Thompson’s theatrical directing debut works best

2018 Emmy Awards nominations ballot: See the 160 Best Drama Series hopefuls from A (‘Altered Carbon’) to X (‘The X-Files’)
TV academy voters will get a bit of a break this month when they sit down to cast their 2018 Emmy Awards nominations ballots, This year, they only have to consider 160 shows for Best Drama Series; in 2017, that number was 180. And they no longer have to winnow their choices down to just 10 favorites. As with last year, they are being told to “Vote for as many achievements in this category that you have seen and feel are worthy of a nomination.”

Remember, only seven of the shows below will earn bids for Best Drama Series when the nominations are announced on July 12. While the reigning champ, “The Handmaid’s Tale,” is back with a sophomore season, it faces “Game of Thrones” for the first time. That epic fantasy had won the previous two years but did was off the air last year. With the exception of “Better Call Saul,” the other

Interview: Brian Huskey on the Return of Mr. Neighbor’S House and Being a Part of the Latest Season of The X-Files

In 2016, Adult Swim debuted a one-off special called Mr. Neighbor’s House which starred Brian Huskey as the eponymous character who takes us through a delightfully demented sendup of children’s television programming tropes that isn’t exactly what it seems. On June 24th, Mr. Neighbor and all his wacky friends like Buddy the puppet, Miss Lady, and Chef Bread, are back for more shenanigans, as it was recently announced that Mr. Neighbor’s House 2 will premiere at midnight, and fans are not going to want to miss out on all the weirdness that awaits them.

Daily Dead recently had the opportunity to speak with Huskey, who discussed coming back for another Mr. Neighbor’s House special alongside fellow creators Jason Mantzoukas and Jesse Falcon, and how they found the balance between Mr. Neighbor’s surreal world and the real-life horrors of Huskey’s character’s existence. We also chatted

Glow” stunt coordinator Shauna Duggins first moved to Los Angeles with a background in gymnastics and an interest in the industry but without a clear direction of the career path she was going to take. She worked as a stunt double and performer on shows such as “The X-Files” and “Alias” before moving up to coordinator for “Ray Donovan,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and the aforementioned Netflix comedy.

Fox still developing new 24, but no plans for more X-Files

During Fox’s upfronts this week, the network has confirmed that 24 creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran and executive producer Howard Gordon remain in development on a new iteration of the real-time drama series, but there are no plans for a third season of The X-Files revival.

Late last year, it was rumoured that 24 was being reinvented as a legal thriller, with the show following a female prosecutor who uncovers a legal conspiracy during the countdown to the execution of a death row inmate who she helped to convict.

Fox’s chairman Dana Walden would not comment if this plot was accurate, but stated that “we are very excited about where the show would go.”

As for The X-Files, chairman Gary Newman stated that: “Not only is there no plan, there hasn’t been a single conversation. It’s been a great show for the network but there are no

6 Times Ryan Reynolds Killed It in a Genre Movie

This week marks the second coming… no, not of That savior, but rather Wade Wilson—aka The Merc with a Mouth—in Deadpool 2, (read our review here), the highly anticipated sequel starring Ryan Reynolds. For his entire career, Reynolds has become synonymous with his sardonic and sassy sense of humor, which this writer has enjoyed watching throughout the decades in films like Van Wilder, Waiting…, Just Friends, The Proposal, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, and more. But for me, what’s been even more interesting to watch is whenever Reynolds ventures over into the realms of horror and science fiction, as the results have been fascinating, to say the least.

With Deadpool 2 set to take over theaters everywhere this weekend, I thought this would be a perfect time to celebrate six different genre-related performances from Reynolds, who has made a career out of making some bold
