The first five seasons of the show were filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The show often cast local Canadian actors in guest and secondary roles, often reusing the same actors in different parts in multiple episodes. The most prominent example of this was Nicholas Lea, who appeared in a guest role in Season One before being cast in the unconnected, more prominent role of Alex Krycek starting in Season Two, but there are many other examples of local actors who had multiple roles over the course of several different episodes, including J.B. Bivens, Lorena Gale, Gillian Barber, Forbes Angus, Larry Musser, Harrison Coe, Hrothgar Mathews, P. Lynn Johnson, and Doug Abrahams (among many others). Each of these appeared in three or more episodes, each time as a different character (Barber played three characters in four episodes). See more »
Mulder and Scully are shown in numerous episodes carrying a variety of handguns from Glocks to Smith & Wesson to SIG Sauers. FBI agents are issued one model of weapon for standard duty carry and they carry those models unless they are lost, unless the agent changes assignments or the entire Bureau changes the brand and model it is using. The X-Files is one of the best shows ever. The show has great episodes dealing with something paranormal and/or conspiracy. The characters have a great chemistry, especially Mulder and Scully. It's not as good as it was a few years back, but it's still way above most shows on today. Many episodes have dealt with this alien conspiracy recently, but the neat thing about it is how not everything is explained, leaving the door open for further episodes. The X-Files is a very excellent show.
