Two FBI agents, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully work in an unassigned detail of the bureau called the X-Files investigating cases dealing with unexplained paranormal phenomena. Mulder, a true believer, and Scully, a skeptic, perceive their cases from stand points of science and the paranormal.Written by
The red speedo that Mulder wears in his scene with Krycek at the beginning of the Duane Barry episode The X-Files: Duane Barry (1994) became a sexual icon, so, many years after that, it still is the object of multiple jokes of the fans and the crew, particularly his partner. Anderson, among other things spoke about his size or was photographed dressed with other red speedo on a couch. Darin Morgan also wrote a gag in the tenth season so Mulder could wear it again and he was admired for it by a special character. See more »
Mulder and Scully are shown in numerous episodes carrying a variety of handguns from Glocks to Smith & Wesson to SIG Sauers. FBI agents are issued one model of weapon for standard duty carry and they carry those models unless they are lost, unless the agent changes assignments or the entire Bureau changes the brand and model it is using. I have watched this show religiously since the first episode began in September of 1993 and I have never been disappointed. The writing, the great cast (notably Gillian Anderson and Mitch Pileggi), the great plots and the great everything else have made me enjoy myself for the last 9 years. Even when David Duchovny decided to take his leave from the show, Chris Carter knew what to do in employing the talent of such stars as Robert Patrick & Annabeth Gish. This show has continued to amaze the world and I'm sure it will until it's final episode in May 2002. I would like to thank Chris Carter and the whole X-Files team for giving me 9 years of enjoyment on Sunday nights. It's been one heck of a show, and I'm sure that it will always be remembered. Farewell to a great series.
