Did You Know?

Contrary to his role as the manipulative, spiteful organized criminal Albert Golo on North of 60, actor Gordon Tootoosis was known among fellow cast members as a really kind, nice and funny person. He appeared in cast photos having parties and laughing with fellow actors Mervin Good Eagle (Joey Small Boat) and Dakota House (Trevor "Teevee" Tenia). Tootoosis was well-known in the United States for appearing on The X-Files, and as a voice actor on the popular 1990's Disney film Pocahontas, although he was a native Canadian. See more »

Hannah Kenidi: [referring to a graphic animal rights VHS tape she was shown] ... It was a lynx. He was crying! They choked him, so they wouldn't damage the fur. They choked him 'till his tongue swelled up... and then he died.
Michelle Kenidi: I know it's hard to understand... the lynx gives us his life so that we can get the things we need. That's why we respect the lynx.

User Reviews

27 November 1999 | by christinaemmaSee all my reviews

I personally love North of 60 it is dramatic, but is funny at times and it deals with real situations that happen on dene reserves.

I believe that this is a truly entertaining program and that if you haven't checked out this series that is now in syndication you don't know what you are missing.

This cast is extraordinary and the show deserves the praise that it does.

This show was filmed in Bragg Creek, Alberta and the scenery is breathtaking

I have learned a lot about the dene people through the program and I think it deserves 5 stars *****
