Lakki The boy who could fly

Sadly there have been a lot of negative criticism around this movie. And i believe that people jump to conclusions as soon as they dont understand whats happening. If you read the book at least alot will be explained. That i can say. But what i love about this movie is how much you can sit and theorise. Every single time i watch the movie i discover new things. I believe that people just need to call down and try to enjoy the movie. If that makes sense. I find that experience very enjoyable! Also, being norweigan like me is going to help alot! The quotes and creative swearing is just so funny and amazing! My dream is for all people to love this movie, read the book perhaps and enjoy the movie like i do. Cause the more i watch the movie it makes more and more sense. If you understand? :) This is Wam & Vennerød and Per Knutsens biggest and best project personally. And fun fact! The book was actually ment to be called Lars Kristian but a friend of Per made up the name Lakki!! :)

    An oddity

Lakki: Boy Who Could Fly, has got to be one of the strangest films ever made. It concerns a boy dealing with his crazy, selfish parents, who are constantly splitting up, reuniting and badmouthing each other. his mother is a pretty but hilarious wreck of a woman. She continually becomes involved with stupid guys, bringing them home into her and her sons lives. It is funny hearing the way she talks to her son, as if he is a friend, or her equal, and not a 14 year-old. She selfishly becomes involved with her sons gym teacher, a stupid muscle head that has been terrorizing the boy. His dad is no better, irresponsible, a womanizer, totally unsympathetic to his sons needs, or to his pain. Lakki spends his time alone, sometimes meeting the eccentric and crazy characters he meets on the street. One day he discovers small angel wings growing out of his back, that come and go depending on whether he is doing the right thing or the wrong thing. The movie is not a total waste of time; There is some good visuals here, and the characters are interesting. Some might be put off by some of the obvious homo erotic imagery here, which comes across as a bit self conscious and dumb, but actually there isn't a lot of that. The actor Anders Borchgrevink has an odd but interesting screen presence, and his portrayal of the angry teen is energetic and believable, and often funny. And actress Nina Gunke as Lakki's self absorbed mom is hilarious as well as easy on the eye. In fact much of the cast is quite beautiful to look at, and it is indeed a treat to hear the Norwegian language spoken. Recommended for fans of weird cinema only. Check it out, if you can find it.

Hilarious, but only for the die-hard fan.

Wam and Venneroed doesn`t deliver the goods in a broad sense of view, although there are some hilarious moments. But I don`t think the humor is done deliberately. And the film hits the spot only within the die hard fans of the Wam and Venneroeds movies.

"Lakki" would have been a far better movie, if Wam and Venneroed have used a little more irony and humor. The result could and would have been far better, because the plot is rather original, although the acting is poorly.

The title on the release for this film was originally: "Gutten som kunne fly", but when the audience rejected it and the critics gladly butchered it, the producers changed the name to: "Lakki", because the title had a more youth-full theme to it....it didn`t help much,I`m sorry to say.

In my opinion this is one of many cult-classic from Wam and Venneroed. The dialog is so pathetic and static, so the result is hilarious. But only for the die-hard fans of Norwegian social realism and movies from the company Mephisto films.
