A woman in a clingy, translucent shirt is seen at the end of the film.

A woman's breasts are shown from the front as she lies in a tub. She partially covers them, although her nipples are glimpsed. She sits up in the tub and the side of her breast, bare back and legs are shown.

A woman is made by a prison warden to remove her underwear. She is later seen vomiting over a toilet after what was presumably an offscreen body cavity search. She is also made to lift each of her breasts in front of the prison warden.

Some kissing with tongues.

A woman has a tranquilizer injected into her while she is handcuffed; a closeup shot of her buttocks being poked with the needle is very briefly seen.

A mental hospital orderly makes a joke that the two male guards on the other side of a door were doing something sexual while the door was closed.

A woman in her bra is shown staring into a mirror while a man behind her caresses her midsection and her breasts, and begins to remove her bra until she protests.

A girl is murdered. We don't actually see it but we see the blood pouring through the ceiling of the room below where the murder took place and we hear her screaming.

We see a woman lying in a puddle of blood and then a bloody bedroom and a baby's crib. The woman then attacks another woman who has a cleaver. She is accidentally cut during the attack and blood spurts out.

We see a dog's severed head.

Candyman has a bloody arm stump which has a hook nailed into it.

A woman is found, very bloody, after having been "hooked" to death.

A young boy is shown crying and screaming on the floor while a voice over tells the story of how a man castrated the boy. There is blood all over a bathroom. Incredibly brief and hard to tell what's happening.

A man is murdered by being split from bottom to top: we see him spitting blood and convulsing. Not as bad it sounds due to the fact this is an old movie, and the act isn't all onscreen.

Candyman shows what's under his fur trench coat which reveals his skinless ribcage and hollowed-out abdomen, as well as his internal organs that are being infested by many bees living within him.

Candyman and woman are shown covered with bees; he has bees crawling out of his mouth.

A woman tries to stab Candyman with a sharp-tipped piece of wood with fire on the tip.

Some swearing/expletives, including "bitch", "asshole", "damn", "oh my god" and "shit".

The film deals with some heavy and controversial themes such as poverty, racism, a sexual affair between a professor and his student, mental illness and murder.

A significant portion of the film is set in the real Cabrini-Green housing projects of Chicago, and features gang members, the mention of drugs, crude graffiti and some racial tension.

Candyman's appearance might be frightening to some.
