When the young Viren (Anil Kapoor - Slumdog Millionaire and 24) comes to India for the first time, he is captivated by Pallavi (Sridevi). When he learns she is already spoken for, he returns to London a broken man. When he gets the news of Pallavi and her husband dying and leaving their daughter Pooja (Sridevi) behind, Viren ensures that she is taken care of. Now some 20 years on, Viren comes back to India and sees Pooja for the first time - a spitting image of her mother. Viren feels that destiny is playing a cruel game with him when Pooja confesses she is in Love with him - yet another moment that changes his life - forever.   • From London, England, Virendra Pratap Singh travels with his Daiji to his ancestral mansion located in the hot, desert region of Rajasthan, India. Viren finds it difficult to cope with the hot climate as well as the customs and traditions of the Indians. He meets Pallavi and is in love with her at first sight unaware of her feelings for him. Viren desist from expressing his feelings for her due to the fear of rejection. Viren also finds out that Pallavi is elder to him and is heart broken when she gets marry to an airline pilot, Siddharth Bhatnagar. Shortly after Viren returns to London only to receive news that Pallavi and Siddharth perish in a car accident leaving behind a daughter, Pooja - who is the exact look-alike of her mother. 20 years later; Pooja comes of age and is in love with Viren and this time it is Pooja who is in love with the elder Viren.
