Aging school teacher Agatha McGee (Dame Angela Lansbury), at a Catholic grammar school in Minnesota, questions her life's existence when she has to start battling new Bishop Richard Baker (Robert Prosky). As a result, she retires and moves to Ireland where she seeks an admirer, James O'Hannon (Denholm Elliott), with whom she has been corresponding for five years. It would have to be a really bad show for these two stars (Angela and Denholm not to shine. I'm glad they worked together before Denholm died. Combining a woman's yearning a man's frustration, a great Bishop Robert Prosky) and the Catholic church with wry humor and even a pregnant cat makes for a wonderful story.
