Hear Camila Cabello Revamp ‘Real Friends’ With Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee
Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee adds an auto-tuned guest spot to Camila Cabello’s newly remixed single “Real Friends.”

The guest’s confident cameo serves as a counterpoint to Cabello’s melancholy vibe. “I pack more than suits in my suitcases/ All this cash, that’s friendly faces,” he sings over the song’s jazzy, fingerpicked electric guitar. “Been movin’ fast, I’m racin’/ Get up, you’re going places.”

The original version of “Real Friends” appears on Cabello’s debut LP, Camila, which Rolling Stone named one of the 50 Best Albums of 2018 So Far.

2018 Vma performers: Post Malone and Travis Scott join the lineup at the MTV Video Music Awards

MTV just announced another pair of performers who will take the stage at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards: Post Malone and Travis Scott. The 35th annual event will air live on Monday night, August 20, at 9pm Eastern and Pacific, from Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Post Malone has two nominations at this year’s VMAs: Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for “Rockstar,” his collaboration with 21 Savage. These are the first Vma nominations for the hip-hop artist in a year full of milestones. Earlier this year he earned 13 Billboard Music Award noms for his achievements on the charts, and he won Top Rap Song for “Rockstar.” Last fall that song reached number-one on the Hot 100 and stayed there for eight weeks.

VMAs mystery: Will Camila Cabello (‘Havana’) be as popular as a solo artist as she was with Fifth Harmony?

VMAs mystery: Will Camila Cabello (‘Havana’) be as popular as a solo artist as she was with Fifth Harmony?
At the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards Camila Cabello has done something her former group Fifth Harmony wasn’t able to do: earn a nomination for Video of the Year. She’s up for her breakthrough solo hit “Havana” featuring Young Thug. But while the girl group was never nominated in the top race they were fan-favorites in other categories. Will Cabello be just as formidable on her own? Watch her telenovela-inspired video above.

From 2014 to 2016 Fifth Harmony won three VMAs out of four nominations: Artist to Watch for their debut video “Miss Movin’ On” (2014), Best Collaboration for “Work from Home” featuring Ty Dolla $ign (2016) and Song of the Summer for “All in My Head (Flex)” featuring Fetty Wap.

Then Cabello departed from the group at the end of 2016 under somewhat contentious circumstances. The remaining four members returned to the VMAs in 2017, when they won Best Pop Video for “Down” featuring Gucci Mane.

Musical.ly Name Disappears As App Merges With TikTok

  • Deadline
Musical.ly has reached its coda.

A year after the Chinese firm Bytedance acquired the video app musical.ly for a reported $1 billion, the company is merging it with another of its products, TikTok.

The new app will be named TikTok, signaling the end for the musical.ly brand with 100 million monthly active users.

“Combining musical.ly and TikTok is a natural fit given the shared mission of both experiences – to create a community where everyone can be a creator,” said Alex Zhu, co-founder of musical.ly and Svp of TikTok.

Users of both shortform video apps will be brought together onto a single platform, which keeps the TikTok name. It’ll boast a new user interface and enhanced video creation features.

Existing creators’ accounts will move automatically to the new TikTok app, where creators will keep all of their pre-existing content and fans while get the chance to reach a bigger,

Can Post Malone dethrone Drake on the charts? He used to be ‘Psycho,’ but he’s ‘Better Now’

There isn’t much movement this week at the top of the charts. Drake is number-one for the fourth week on the Billboard 200 albums chart with “Scorpion.” And he’s number-one for the third straight week on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart dated August 4 with the viral “In My Feelings.” But can Post Malone overtake him anytime soon? He climbs into the top five with “Better Now” from his latest album “Beerbongs and Bentleys.” Watch the video above to see who else made the top 10.

It might be hard for Post Malone — or anyone for that matter — to deal with Drake’s “Feelings.” Not only is it the top song in the country, it has posted the two biggest streaming weeks for any song in history. This week alone it logged 106.2 million on-demand listens, which is down 8% from the previous week when it broke the record.

Counting the previous number-one

There are six nominees for Video of the Year, and most of them would be first-time champs — but not Beyonce. She has won the top prize twice, which makes her one of only four artists with multiple victories along with fellow two-time champs Eminem, Rihanna, and Kendrick Lamar. No one has won it three times, but Beyonce could pull it off since she and Jay-z have the most nominated video of the year: “Apeshit,” which is up for eight awards total.

But despite the combined star power of Beyonce and Jay-z,

Instead, fans can vote online for Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist and many more regardless of sex. Men have a slight majority in the top category, where there are five men and four women represented, counting collaborations.
