Trivia

The movie was largely rushed into production. The original script was discarded and rewritten in one week, starting in March 1989. Principal photography had finished by the end of April, editing was done in May, and the movie was first screened at a film festival in July. See more »

Goofs

Ricky was shot in the chest at the end of the previous entry, so he should not have to have the transparent brain dome in the first place. See more »

Better Than II.

Rating 4**** stars out 5

Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 3 is the true sequel to the original film. 3 basically ignores the events that happened in part 2 with Billy and Ricky and the doctor, the flashbacks scenes and Mother Superior. But in 3 it has greater quailty than 2. Ricky gets out of his coma and goes after a blind girl on christmas. Bill Mosley portrays Ricky (Eric Freeman tried so hard in 2, but turned it down in 3) And Samantha Scully and Robert Culp are great to. Director Monte Hellman also makes good effort to make it a black comedy and horror film as well. This one should have been what 2 should have been. However if your are a fan of Silent Night, Deadly Night movies then watch the first film and move to this one. 2 is a waste of time. The only thing missing from this one is it has no good history to Ricky's killings nor does it have anything with Billy either and no nudity like the first two. Followed by an embarrsing sequel but then 5 was good.
