Trivia

Anil Kapoor roped in his 'god mother' Shabana Azmi to do a special appearance as Baby Shalini's mother. Shabana is supposed to have asked the director what kind of mental illness her character suffers from. And she was told to just act 'filmy' mad. She used her own intelligence and understanding to interpret the role. See more »

Rakhwala an anil kapoor show through the way
4 August 2015 | by pmukherjeeSee all my reviews

Rakhwala is a typical masala entertainer that simply entertains you.Anil Kapoor plays the quintessential 'tapori' to the hilt which clearly reflects his star power at late 80's.Rakhwala is a rare example where an actor towers above the hackneyed script and shoddy direction to deliver a defining performance.Music of the film was peppy and foot tapping specially "tak dhin na dhin......". This film did exceedingly well in B & C centres. All the support cast including Shabana Azma were outright average except ashrani & annu kapoor .Rakhwala is a decent watch largely because of anil kapoor's silken acting prowess as the 'tapori'. Rakhwala came after blockbuster "RAM LAKHAN" and the makers cashed on to it.
