Trivia

The movie was never meant to be a direct sequel to No Retreat, No Surrender (1986). In an interview, Keith W. Strandberg claims that the title was decided on because of the popularity of the first film. Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kurt McKinney were set to star because of their contracts with the Seasonal Film Corporation but would not have reprised their roles from the original movie. See more »

Quotes

Yuri: Tell me who sent you. I will see to it you get out alive.
Terry: Well, I'll tell you. I think the tour operator was... Cambodian Holidays.
Yuri: Tour operator?
Terry: Like I was saying, I was separated from my tour. We were supposed to view the remains of a B-52 today.
Yuri: B-52?
Terry: I really should be getting back. They take a head count, and if you're not there at dinner, it's the stockade.

Alternate Versions

In Australia, the title in the opening credits is simply "Raging Thunder", not "No Retreat, No Surrender 2: Raging Thunder". This (along with the absence of any familiar faces from the first movie) caused a lot of confusion with viewers as they thought they were watching the wrong film (the title on all the video boxes was "No Retreat No Surrender 2", with the "Raging Thunder" part being very small and unnoticeable). Some American kid travels to Asia, finds a camp full of Russians and kicks their asses without getting a single scar. Why do the USA still have an Army when they've kids like this one? Did the USSR break down because of that kid? Gimme a break!
