Storyline

1959:Alain, a young typographer ,an anti-militarist , refuses the draft and Algeria war.He's given false papers by his boss whose son was killed there.But taking too much time to say goodbye to his pregnant fiancee ,he is caught again by the Gendarmes.Forced into a penal army unit ,he is sent to Algeria :there ,he is charged with the task of controlling the civilian population in the villages .His warrant officer is convinced that rebels hide in one of them.
