They Call Me Renegade

Ross Hill (who plays Matt in the movie) was the adopted son of Terence Hill and his American wife Lori Hill. In 1987, after filming Renegade, he was supposed to play Billy the Kid siding again with his father Terence Hill (playing Lucky Luke), but unfortunately, they had to shoot the film without Ross. He died in a car accident on January 30, 1990 when he was only sixteen years old, together with a friend, Kevin. The Lucky Luke film is indeed dedicated to Ross and Kevin.

In some cuts of the film an extra scene occurs where a second encounter with the truck drivers who are forced to run after after the Renegade and trailer takes place after their truck has been disabled. The second encounter of the running gag that happens again towards the end of the film as well, takes place after the hotel shootout where Luke stops in order for the truckers to try and catch up to him as it was done the first time. Only in the second instance, unlike the first, Luke does run out of gas and has to fill his Jeep with fuel in order to get it started before the two truckers figure out he is not bluffing like he did the before and actually have a chance to catch him. There is no explanation as to why this scene has been removed from subsequent releases of the film. The scene can be found in older VHS and international copies of the film.
