Ready Player One Review #3: As Inspiring As It Is Fun

Ready Player One Review #3: As Inspiring As It Is Fun
Legendary Director Steven Spielberg's latest movie Ready Player One promised fans a plethora of 80s nostalgia, and it delivered all of these nostalgic expectations in a basket weaved from Spielberg's always fantastic storytelling abilities. This movie is certainly great, but what is it that makes it so great?

First off, there's the elephant in the room: the nostalgia. For anyone looking for a flash-to-the-past, this movie is for you. One of the most surprising aspects of Ready Player One was the variety in nostalgic references that were made. Not only would the movie make references to other science fiction films like Back to the Future and The Iron Giant, but they'd include major moments dedicated to films from other genres as well. Films like The Shining, Child's Play, Say Anything, and oddly enough Godzilla vs Mecha-Godzilla all received the spotlight at some point, along with many more delightful surprises.

Chucky has been brewing up fresh batches of nightmare fuel for moviegoers for thirty years, and now the pint-sized terror is finally set to bring his quips and kills to TV. Bloody Disgusting reports that franchise creator Don Mancini is working with long-time franchise producer David Kirschner to develop a TV series inspired by the iconic killer doll. Brad Dourif, who has voiced Chucky in every Child's Play film, is also set to return for the series. According to Mancini the series was "deliberately set up at the end of the last movie." Child’S Play TV Series in the Works

  • DailyDead
Following the well-received release of the seventh Chucky movie in 2017, it looks like the Child's Play franchise could be heading to the small screen.

Don Mancini, a writer on all of the Chucky movies and director of four of the films, exclusively told Bloody Disgusting that he is developing a Child's Play television series with producer David Kirschner.

While details on the series are mostly under wraps, Mancini did let Bloody Disgusting know that the series was "deliberately set up" at the conclusion of the latest film, Cult of Chucky, and that the tone of the show is going to be "darker than ever before."

Mancini also mentioned that Brad Dourif will reprise his role as the voice of Chucky, and Kirschner confirmed that the series will be a continuation of the franchise rather than a reboot. Bloody Disgusting also reports that the series, which will have Child's Play in the name,

There's a Child's Play TV Series Being Developed By the Writer of the Film Franchise

The Child's Play horror franchise has had a long and successful run. The fact that they keep making these films means that the franchise has been pulling in some good money. Now it seems that the creative talent of the series is looking to keep the franchise running as a TV series.

During an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Don Mancini, who has written every film in the franchise and has directed the past three films, reveals that he is now developing the series. He said:

"We plan to use Child’s Play in the title. We want to definitely signal that we are going dark, darker than ever before. It’s going to be very creepy."

Mancini goes on to say that the series was "deliberately set up at end of" the last movie, Cult of Chuck and then made sure to add that the "tone is dark and disturbing.

Child's Play Creator Wants a Chucky Movie Set in WWII

Child's Play Creator Wants a Chucky Movie Set in WWII
Could we be seeing Chucky up to his murderous ways during WWII? If Don Mancini, the man who created the Child's Play franchise, gets his way, it may very well happen. Cult of Chucky was released last year as the seventh movie in the long-running horror franchise and, even though it didn't get a theatrical release, the movie was rather successful. That in mind, we're likely getting more Chucky movies and one of those movies could take place during WWII.

During a recent interview, Don Mancini was talking about some ideas he has for future movies in the franchise. Surprisingly, Mancini revealed that he would love to do a World War II-ear entry in the Child's Play franchise. He even has an idea of how this could make sense, relatively speaking. Here's what he had to say about it.

"I would love to do a World War II-era Chucky movie; I think would be awesome.

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 11 Review: Fort Rozz

  • TVfanatic
Rip Livewire.

It was unexpected to see her give her life for Kara on Supergirl Season 3 Episode 11, but that's just the kind of hero Kara is. She manages to get through to villains and turn them into good guys.

Can she do the same thing with Reign?

Kara's number one rule has always been no killing, and that hasn't changed despite the severe beat down she received from Reign. She doesn't even know yet that Sam is her alter-ego, but she can still sense that there is something good inside her.

Kara believes there's good in everyone.

Livewire: All I'm saying is somebody as evil as Reign deserves to die.

Kara: And anyone else who thinks otherwise is just a sucker?

Livewire: Now you're catching on.

Permalink: Now you're catching on. Added: January 22, 2018

Livewire is firmly on the side of killing her, but her heroic death only proves to Kara that anyone can be saved,

California Driver Ticketed for Using Chucky Doll in Carpool Lane

The California Highway Patrol had a good laugh after they pulled over a driver who was using a Chucky doll from the Child's Play movies as his carpool passenger. The driver took the proper precautions and made sure to buckle Chucky up, which surely avoided another ticket for not having him strapped in. Apparently the dolls have found a new form of popularity in the Bay area since John Gruden has returned as head coach of the Oakland Raiders. Football fans believe that the head coach closely resembles Chucky and they bring the doll with the iconic scowl to games.

A California Highway Patrol officer pulled over a driver last Thursday around 4 Pm on Highway 4 after noticing something peculiar about the driver's carpool passenger. Many people have been wrongly pulled over due to officers not being able to see small children in the car, but the horror icon was clearly seen by the ticketing officer.

The Doll Trailer: This Bloodthirsty Barbie Will Creep You Out
Valeria Lukyanova, aka 30-year-old Human Barbie, the Ukrainian model who has made it her life's ambition to mimic the famous toy from Mattel, is heading to a (select) theater near you in The Doll. The Doll is the first serious role for Lukyanova as the movie was presented at the Cannes Film Festival. We're basically looking at a naughty, taller version of Chucky from Child's Play and from what the trailer shows us, there's a twist, which is not a bad thing at all. We're looking at a new type of slasher movie, one where Ron Jeremy gets stabbed to death.

The Doll sees a possessed doll (Valeria Lukyanova) ruin the lives of two friends and the trailer shows us just how brutal, horrifying, and gloriously weird the movie looks. The official synopsis of the movie reads.

"Internationally renowned model and internet sensation, Valeria Lukyanova ("The Human Barbie") makes a
