Synopsis

  • College student Eric Cord arrives home one night and finds his best friend and roommate Ted Nichols (Raphael Sbarge) loading a revolver with silver bullets. Ted tells Eric that he is a werewolf, responsible for a series of killings occurring in the city. When Eric expresses doubt over his friend's confession, Ted shows Eric the sign of the pentagram embedded in the palm of his hand and warns him that the sign means that the transformation is near. Ted then gives Eric the loaded revolver and pleads with him to kill him when he changes. Eric believes Ted is delusional and refuses to do it. Ted then asks Eric to tie him up until midnight and if he doesn't change, then Eric can do whatever he wants.

After tying him up, Eric then listens to Ted explain that the previous summer while working on a fishing boat captained by Janos Skorzeny (Chuck Connors), he was walking home through a boatyard when he was attacked and wounded by a werewolf. He explains that three days after the attack, the pentagram appeared in his palm and that a short time later, he is transformed into a werewolf and killed several people. Ted says he tried locking himself up when he knew he was going to change, but eventually, he stopped because he grew to crave the change and the killing. He informs Eric that one can stop the curse by killing the werewolf of the original bloodline that changed him.

After midnight, the pentagram on Ted's hand began to bleed and Eric witnesses Ted begin to transform into a werewolf. The werewolf/Ted frees himself from his restraints and attacks Eric, who manages to shoot and kill him, but not before the werewolf bites Eric on his shoulder. After Ted is killed, his body reverts back to its human form.

Recovering in the hospital, Eric is arrested for Ted's murder and is released on bail. Eric realizes that the bite has inflicted him with the curse as well. While talking to his girlfriend Kelly Nichols (Michelle Johnson), who is also Teds sister about what happened when he shot Ted, Eric sees the pentagram on his own hand. Eric persuades Kelly to lock him up before he changes. The next morning, Eric learns that another killing has occurred. When Kelly tells Eric that he was locked up all night, he realizes that there is another werewolf out there and believes that it could be the one who originally infected Ted.

Going to the boatyard in search of the werewolf that infected Ted, Eric senses the presence of another werewolf and finds Captain Janos Skorzeny. After talking with Skorzeny, Eric becomes convinced that Skorzeny is the werewolf that infected Ted and was responsible for the most recent killing. He contacts Kelly and tells her to call the police and to tie him up because he feels the change is going to happen soon. Then, Kelly was abducted by Skorzeny who plans to make her his next victim. Eric then is captured by "Alamo Joe" Rogan (Lance LeGault), a bounty hunter sent to capture Eric for jumping bail for Ted's murder.

While Eric is tied up in Rogan's truck, he changes and escapes. Alamo Joe sees Eric as a werewolf and shoots him multiple times, and is stunned that his bullets had no effect on the beast. Sensing Skorzeny's trail, Eric follows it up to Skorzeny's cabin lair, where he has taken Kelly. Skorzeny then changes into a werewolf and the two attack each other in front of Kelly. During the fight, the cabin catches fire and Skorzeny manages to escape.

The next morning, Eric wakes up in his human form and finds a traumatized Kelly near the burnt out cabin. He then tells Kelly that he must go after Skorzeny in order to end the werewolf curse. While Eric sets out in search of Skorzeny, Rogan pursues Eric armed with silver bullets.
