Storyline

A team of special force ops, led by a tough but fair soldier, Major "Dutch" Schaefer, are ordered to assist CIA man, Colonel Al Dillon, on a rescue mission for potential survivors of a Helicopter downed over remote South American jungle. Not long after they land, Dutch and his team discover that they have been sent in under false pretenses. This deception turns out to be the least of their worries though, when they find themselves being methodically hunted by something not of this world. Written by Laygz

Trivia

The invisibility cloaking effect was achieved with a bright red suit (because it was the farthest opposite of the green of the jungle and the blue of the sky) the size of the Predator. The red was removed with chroma key techniques, leaving an empty area. The take was then repeated without the actors using a 30% wider lens on the camera. When the two takes were combined optically, the jungle from the second take filled in the empty area. Because the second take was filmed with a wider lens, a vague outline of the alien could be seen with the background scenery bending around its shape. See more »

Goofs

Dutch and his men are shown to be US military special forces operators. As such, they are lawfully bound to follow any legal order given to them by a superior officer. That means that they do not get to "pick and choose" which missions they will undertake and those that they won't. The entire discussion between Dutch and Dillion later about how Dillion "tricked" Dutch and his men is irrelevant as their job is simply to follow the orders that they have been given. It also makes the General and Dillion seem to be incompetent as not truthfully revealing the nature and scope of the mission Dutch and his men risked failing to achieve the objectives required. A Timeless Sci-Fi Action Movie
23 December 2017 | by claudio_carvalhoSee all my reviews

After the crash of a helicopter of a minister in a Central America island, Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and his team of special force are assigned to rescue him from the guerrillas. Soon they learn that they were sent to the island for another reason and there is an alien warrior hunting them down.

"Predator" is a timeless sci-fi action film with Arnold Schwarzenegger and a team of "badasses". The stor is engaging and suspenseful even when the viewer sees many times. Thirty years after the release, "Predator" has become a classic in the genre. My vote is nine.

Title (Brazil): "Predador" ("Predator")
