Storyline

A summer sitcom about the up and downs of two unlikely college freshmen. Nick Chase (Young) is a middle-aged Marine drill instructor who wants something more out of life than what the military can give him, so he leaves the military and goes to college at Saginaw University. His roommate, Matthew Wiggins (Haim), is young and bright but also looked upon as nerdy. Every week, the two learn from each other (mainly, Matthew learning from Nick) and get past life's tough challenges. Written by Pat McCurry <ccgrad97@aol.com> / edited by statmanjeff

Creepy Story in Light of Future Allegations
21 April 2020 | by Johnny_WestSee all my reviews

Corey Haim committed suicide in 2010, after many allegations were made that he and Corey Feldman and other child stars were often sexually molested by older actors.

In Roomies, he is the college dorm roommate of much older Burt Young. The same Burt Young who wanted his sister to be a prostitute in Rocky (1976), and who was on Law and Order: SVU as a serial rapist who is suspected of kidnapping a little girl. As a youth, and a fan of Corey Haim, I watched this show a couple of times back in the day, and it made me completely uncomfortable.

The dynamics and chemistry between Burt Young and young Corey Haim were just creepy beyond words. Thankfully, the show was cancelled quickly.
